  1. Ladies and Gentlemen Please Raise your glasses and turn to page 73 the July 2009 Issue of the http://www.targetshooter.co.uk magazine I've had Images published in other international magazines (Astronomy related) but this has proved to be what in my humble opinion my greatest achievement inmy involvement in the world the shooting sports (Well next to taking the 3 Gold Awards at the 1st Live Compitition). Many thanks to the Team at Target Shooter Magazine, and to all the members of what is the greatest International Pistol Shooting Club in the WORLD The UMAREX BOYS CLUB! May w

  5. Yes Michael, You are quite correct we were all newbies once upon a long time ago. Lets try again Tatty, Welcome to the forum Now if you own such a peashooter and you are not a reg'd skirmisher, get rid down the local police stattion or sell it quick sharp to someone who IS a skirmisher. Then buy an air rifle, but looking at your tag and the question you asked I'm assuming (perhaps and quite probably incorectly ) that the 93 is the year you were born? If thats the case you wont be able to buy an air rifle Silly UK government demands that you require a permit t
  6. NOPE, Not a chance! If you need to ask you shouldn't even have one in your possession. Are you a reg'd skirmisher? Phantom

  9. Hey Matt, The gun shown is a very capable gun for rabbits out to (my max so far with a one shot kill) is 30ish yards. A lot of people reckon the chinese are crap, but if you look here : http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...howtopic=107429 You will see that my rifle is the SMK19 (along with as SMK 3-9x40 scope) By the way, if you go into Duncans in Paragon Square, they will advise you to stay away from the Chinese (as they did me!), However Duncans will sell you an Edgar Brothers with similar power output as the 19. If you want to see the 19 and other chinese gu
  10. No not quite Matt, Its a Spring Powered Rifle; that you either cock (tension the spring) by breaking the Barrel, or via a lever underneath or at the side. Then when you squeeze the trigger, the spring is released, pushes the piston forward and compresses then forces the air out of the chamber, propelling the pellet from the breach down the barrel and on its way. Its when Newtons laws of motion kick in that says ''for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction' Its this reaction that gives a springer (and a cartridge gun) it recoil. 11. Ummm...... Guess you were bored as well as tiddled huh? Phantom
  12. Great Mixture there buddy. Keep it up Phantom
  13. Nice going, Do you cook them? Phantom
  14. Anyone who knows me, knows I like Cajun & Spicy food Put a Bunny in the roasting dish today, very light coating of oil, covered liberally in Cajun Spices and left to roast for an hour and a half. When cooked I placed a couple of jars of "Creole" sauce in the roasting dish. Cooked for a further hour on medium heat in the oven. Part boiled some new potatoes, then chopped some large mushrooms, placed with the potatoes and finished and finished off in the oven Here's the finished product. Tasted Superb
  15. Not tried many through my .22, but AA Fields (and these FX things) are deffinately the top for me Phantom
  16. Last time I was up there Sean, I was comming down Glaramara (in January 2000ish) following (literally) in the footprints of a mate of mine when I heard a loud "CRACK" and next tinh I know I'm up to my nose in freezing rushing water, with 3 blokes trying to pull me and my 4 stone pack out of a raging torrent! Theres nowt like a weekend trekking in the Snowy Lakes to remind you that your still alive (especially when you end up so close to death!)!! Phantom Ummmmmm..... seemed to have digressed from the original theme of the thread! Sorry Phantom
  17. Agreed Although; You have the advantage of (looking at your location) stunning location and countryside. Me, I have a river, a bloody busy road and a city (or should I say slum) surrounding my area Still my (only) 2 bunnies (so far) have tasted superb Phantom
  18. Summat like, or suppose it could be like erm....(sorry!) A MOBILE RFD Phantom
  19. No sweat Sean, Sorry if I came across as 'argumentitive' Although I am a 'relative Newbie' to this forum I do like to be as factual as I can be when I post advice. I have been shooting on and off for 30'ish years and although I became interested in Hunting a year or so back, I have only just started out in hunting. This is because I was absoulutely adament that before I let a round loose at an aminal; I had to have honed my shooting skills so that when I hit an animal I want it to be 'Lights out' instantly and suffer as absolutely little as possible (as all good hunters do). I
  20. Sean, Pellpax are RFD's They will bring the gun to your door and conduct the legal FACE TO FACE sale inside your house Hence they will deliver to your door!Well actually into your front room/lounge It matters not (in the eyes of the law) as to wether they do it in a shop or in your house or even the street (as long as its in a fastened gun slip!) Phantom
  21. A Muzzle Brake is NOT a Silencer or Moderator at all. A Muzzle brake is to help Minimize Muzzle Flip on recoiling rifles/pistols and should not be confused with a Moderator / Silencer A simple definition of a MB can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muzzle_brake A sound Supressor/Moderator/Silencer is used to reduce the sound of the crack from the muzzle of the rifle/pistol. Phantom
  22. I have spoken to Pellpax a couple of times over the telephone. They are RFD's and will have the Gun delivered to you you cheaper than what you would pay to have it sent via the RFD network!! So if its a case of you can not get your choice locally, then they are a good bet (IMHO) Phantom. ps must go see what they have these days thanks for the reminder!
  23. Thats some sweet marksmanship there buddy. Well done Phantom
  24. Umm... Had thought about a QB a while ago. Used one at H&DFTC a year back. What are they like with a silencer? Also how much of a variation is there on a cold day (dont want to give the bunnies a head ache do i)? Phantom
  25. I had a guy from the Council come round this morning! He told me to ignore them as long as I am legal. (or at least give them a set time and days that I would like to shoot) them! The guy who gave me the abuse gave me an (of sorts) appology for the way in wich he had objected saying he had 'over reacted' and told me he should have gone about it in a less cofrontational way! I told him what the guy from the council (I know he saw the guy come into the house) had said and told him that I will still shoot (as I am legally entitled to do so), but I won't do it to excess and as the sec
