Morning Whizzie, Lovely meat to last you a fair while I'm looking forward to trying to preserve the head etc If it works out right, I'll get a mount for it Good job we didn't fix the time to meet, I was still in the Cesspit known as Hull at gone 17:00 Going to have a look for that item for you next Tony

Very well put Si Now Liam, if you wish to ignore whats been mentioned, thats your look out. Remember not long back a guy was prosecuted for shooting a Pigeon Why? because he hadn't learnt to shoot! He hit the bird it dropped to the ground and he had only wounded it. So he was prosecuted for wounding the bird and causing undue distress and suffering. In short Animal Cruelty. How did the authorities know? One of his neighbours just happened to see him as he took the shot. Dont forget that Vermin such as Rats have the same level of legal protection as other animals. Even the ones on

I'm with you on that Wurz Muzzle up when on sling, down and pointing nearside when in arms An excellent vid my friend Only other comment is via text and not for the masses buddy Tony -
If it's owned by no-one, then it's owned by the state If you set foot on it with a gun, as already said, your gonna wind up in front of the Sheriff for armed trespass with a MANDATORY term in the big house And with the way the Scottish are going with regards air guns, thats not a happy place that you want to be Tony

Awsome little rifles Single or multishot! Tony
-
That little rifle will indeed serve you well for what you want to use it for. CO2 in winter will (well especially in VERY cold temps) will affect it slightly, so a Zero check before each hunt will be in order just like the rest of us with springers and PCP's do I've got myself a lovely lil 78 to refurbish And that scope is way more than enough to see you right Tony

Shame I'm not closer

Nice one buddy What yah getting next week? Tony

S200 is a PCP Steve, I think you may be thinking of the AA TX200? But yes missing a couple of shots on the trott does knock the confidance and you are quite correct, a chillout does indeed help, both with springers and pnuematics Tony

Nice work Skott It is hard work peeling a warm Squizzer Much easier after they have been in the fridge overnight not like you can do that on a camp though I cant light a camp fire in the cemetery and the land owner of the Paddock dont like fires on his land either but I will camp out for a day or so Tony

Nice to hear Mac I've met up with loads of genuine guy's off here, the ones that seem to 'vanish' after I offer to meet up with them are the ones to be weary of. Meeting up with Whizzie in the next few weeks for some shooting. When it comes to buying and selling, I usually do so mail order as I don't drive and just have to put my trust in them. So far I've been let down just the once, long time ago and not shooting related Tony -
I once went from P on P to close on missing the target! Really put a dampner on the evening in the paddock Packed up and went home to initially clean the barrel. As I picked my baby up to clean the barrel I felt the stock move slightly For some unknown reason the nut rhat holds the stock on (through the grip) had somehow come loose! Only a little but it was enough to cause a major problem with accuracy. Tightened it up again, next day she was back to her usual performance There are a number of factors that can cause accuracy problems the above being just one. Others include: Kn

When you say 'Pump-Up' what do you mean? 1/. He used a Tall Stirrup Pump to fill it (known as a PCP or Pre-Charged Pnuemantic) 2/. The rifle had a built in pump? (depending on make and model this type are known as SSP's or MSP's (Single Stroke Pnuematic that only needs 1 pump or Multi Stroke Pnuematic that require a number of pumps to get to the operating pressure). MSP's are generally the cheapest, but they really take some work for one shot! Tony

Medium or High Mounts?
Phantom replied to Audioslave82's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Your going to need high mounts for the 50mm Hawke if it has the Adjustable Objective Lens as this takes the outside diameter to 64mm and that is without any lens caps/covers (another 3 to 6mm depending on make of caps. Tony -
Sometimes it does. When I'm lamping in the cemetery, there are street lights around and I get multiple reflections onto the eyebell lens witch reduces contrast There is also the problem when I'm out in the cold as the odd breath can really fog the glasses up. I've tried contact lenses to over come these problems but I dont get along with them too well and when wearing them in low light I've found I cant make out quarry very well at all unless its close. Thanks for the PM Tom I don't think it was so much as duff info Tom, possibly the original guy was talking about it being easy to reduce the power back to sub12 (which it is) but he neglected to say that it cant be taken off ticket? Thus giving the 'impression' that it could be taken off ticket. Tony
-
I thought so too Tom when I was trying to get my Ultra turned down, But the Firearms Act clearly states that once it's FAC, it can not be removed from FAC Status even if turned down. There are a couple of rifles that CAN be taken off ticket, smoothbore barreled airguns with a barrel length of 20 something inches (or something like that) or a deac. Tony
-
You can turn it back to sub 12, but IT STAYS FAC and will remain so until it's destruction! If you sell it on, it has to go to someone with a FAC and they must have it listed on ticket, even if it's running at 5ft/lbs you still need an FAC to possess it If you sell it to a non fac holder, you are committing a serious offence Tony
