  1. I really like the boerboel but Im at a stage in my life now that when my old bandog bitch goes I dont think Ill bother getting another big dog if I get another dog at all.
  2. No never had any experience with anything with English Mastiff. Most people who want a traditional bandog type tend to use Neopolitan as its a lot easier to find them with the correct attitude.
  3. Most traditional type bandogs with a heavy mastiff base like the one I have tend to be teritorial/defence driven. With working trials being the in thing it doesnt really suit a laid back defensive type dog so they all way prey driven animals as thats what will win trials and look exciting on social media in turn getting likes and selling pups.
  4. I remember him 20years ago having a litter of ABs for sale.I went to his place when he had a house in Bromley.First thing I saw was a Neopolitan mastiff bitch walking around in the garden looking very sorry for itself that had just lost a whole litter of pups.He then showed me a ped for the bulldog pups and they wernt anything like bred how he said they were.I then went down his garden where he had a row of 6x4 garden sheds that his dogs were in.When he opened the one with the pups they all ran and hid in the back corner. He then showed me the mother who stood there growling nervously. He told m
  5. If you want something thats happy enough to lay about and be chilled out.Have enough sense to not be sticking it on any visitersor friends you invite to your home but have goot natural guarding/protective instinct you cant go wrong with something with decent mastiff baseline. It doesnt sound like you want anything super prey driven.
  6. Money making scam.I saw on social media that the african bulls**ter has jumped on them now.He was telling everyone that would listen that his bully kuttas were the way to go a few years back
  7. I heard it was off ch max but then somebody else who was around the dog said it was a different max.
  8. Think it was a different Max.Fella I did some terrierwork with had that Pye at his place for a while
  9. Im not disagreeing that there are a hell of a lot like that.Ive been lucky enough to see a few quality animals that could run and catch stuff on all land, single handed and they were all of a similar bloodline. And guess what? They origionally went back to the real Mcoy bulldogs
  10. Not all bull crosses.Doubling them up wont give em any more agility or wind either but in my opinion most that were doubled up was I dont think their owners truly trusted them to get the job done on their own
  11. Seen a few of that breeding and didnt rate any of them tbh. Most of the lads running them from that area would double them up on a poxy fox
  12. Taking hogs aint no great shakes mate.Ive seen boar taken by a lurcher that wouldnt even look at a fox if run on its own.Owned an AB too that took them but wouldnt stick its head in a hole
  13. To breed a dog for protection work no you dont need tried and tested bulldogs as has already been proven. But having that attitude is probably why 90%of bull cross lurchers aint worth a w**k
  14. To breed a bull/herder or to produce quality bull/lurchers?
  15. Trouble is how many of these bull/herders are bred out of tried and tested bulldogs? But saying that how many of the 1000s of bull/greyhounds up and down the british Isles are bred out of tried and tested bulldogs
  16. Yeah Nathaniel and his dad Rocky are nice Fellas.Another very good trainer is Rodney and the best is a lovely old fella called Earl who Rodney learned from.Earls a good friend of mine and was putting schutzhund titles on dogs in the 80s.He calls all these modern trainers the crash, bang, wallop brigade.
  17. Yeah Scott told me a couple of stories about it.I know of multiple presa males that have got shitty with their owners.Fellas who know their way around a dog too
  18. Thats the problem. Its not the dogs its the people they end up with.A straight herder is a liability if it ends up with somebody who doesnt know how to manage it
  19. Thats why its best to breed for yourself and a few trusted associates and nut the rest but unfortunately everyone want to earn a few quid too.
  20. And got shot of that when it started trying its luck
  21. I had a heavy Joshuas Sandvalley Sam bred bitch down off an import from AS.Super solid temperament with great hunting drive.Tried a few after that and didnt keep any of them.
  22. Exactly that mate.A proper bulldog improves pretty much anything you cross it to.
  23. Why not.Come give us your educated opinion.
  24. Yeah it was. That origional cross was done around the time I was training with him.
  25. Bodybuilder.Hes a big fat f**ker who made a statement and went to court against a bloke who punchd him in the face when he was being a big tough doorman. Was then wginging on fb that the fella only got a fine and comunity service.
