Aye but the rat packs ya can eat cold, just the variety I liked, tear and go, you don't even need a spoon ? Think I'll experiment with the vac packer. I ain't paying the price now for the convineance, it's only couple of times a year anyways.

I've cut tons for the stove, I don't really wanna be cutting more and leaving random piles around, its bloody hard work opening new banks and a proper pain, turfing, cutting, cruachs, its a two man job and about 6 visits out to get it right for burning. Spade and a tairsgear would be a pain carrying for a while too. Its just not practical.

Thats why we take nearly empty back packs ? all I'm saying though is they are handy, but not worth the money now, when my son and daughter were in the military i'd get them free. There's also nothing to make a decent fire with out there too, just heather which is grand in a kelly but not much else, the peats too wet to burn and we have no trees here. Just hole up in a shieling over night and make the best of what there is.

Jeez ya don't believe in that nonsense do you? Actually out looking for big cats ? Seriously when its takes you a day to get out past the bog and peat hags to the hills, it can take days, theres no access roads, even the quad and tractor you can only get a few miles out and a helicopter is out of my price range just now, and we only get them in once a year for the count.

Does anyone use or know any good ones that are cheaper than the main branded ones? They are really handy when your out on a long day, I've used them for years, but they seem to be getting very expensive, probably because of camping season and it been really popular now, the companies cashing in. I've got a vac pack machince but seems a hassle cooking, or compiling it all before hand, and even then I don't know what the shelf life would be. They are handy, I like the all day breakfast and curries, even cold ?, but am beggining to wonder if they are worth it? Cheers ?

I've an A-bolt3 in .308, I was surprised to find its not glass bedded but my t-bolts 22lr an 17hmr are, I don't know if its just a good fit composite and doesn't need it, and I honestly can't fault the accuarcy out to 300 yards, haven't been out further than that really, but may just do it in the future and see if the groupings any thighter.

A lot going composite too man. Think with the modern composite now and the easyness of care more and more are going this route rather than wood. I do like a wood stock but modern plastics now are sooooo easy ? Cracking bit of kit too MOSAD, enjoy ?
