    I'm pretty sure class A's are a bit of a no no until its a spent conviction, about the 10 year mark from recollection before it's spent. As Ben says though ring your local FEO and ask.

    I'm all in favour of not using plastic wads in cartridges, beaches here you can always find them. Cases too, what was up with the old paper ones? Its a voluntary ban anyway, so as long as your not supplying game dealers, and shooting for your own consumption, no problem! This is going to be spread out to rifle shooters too I expect, the main thing that concerns me really is the cost of replacments. I put a post on my lead casting in reloading if you guys could have a look and give input, Ta ?

    Oops that was a max load, Start was 46.6gn of N550 muzzle pressure 8861psi and muzzle vel 2419fps

    I dug my stuff out and cast some lead in a c309-170f lee mould, sized and gas checked them for .308, sat now waiting for lube to dry. Anyway I don't know what load to charge these with as all I have now is reach compliant, so I turned to quickload to see if I can get a recipe for powder I have. I don't want to overpressure as I've not hardness tested the lead as yet. They came out with gas checks crimped at 179gn to 182 gn What do you think this looks like as a start out load?

    Aye ? got the smelter, gas checks and everything. I got them originaly just to check it out and see what it was like, but now I'm thinking it's going to come in very handy when they inflict the ban on rifle loads ?
