  1. why do you feel the need to broadcast it yet again? why don't you just PM/email me with your comments? thats the same sort of reply ian woods was giving me when i bad mouthed his name all over the internet, looks like i,m gonna have to start on you, and i won,t be doing it onpm,s or email , your sort want stopping, you are a bad name to honest hard working folk, you have owed this lad for a long time and should have at least made an effort to pay him, i hope you sleep at night
  2. that nowt like as bad as when a trap goes off on ya finger
  3. --> QUOTE(john b @ Jan 12 2007, 03:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 2 copies sold, but I have a couple more left. got mine today , john , cracking little book , its worth the price for the cage traps alone, anyone who like tinkering about with making stuff should get this book
  4. if i remember correctly , there was once a knocker box with an ear plug , can you still get them , if so where from ,or can anyone tell me how to rig one up ,was out in the gales today , and was having a hell of a job hearing the knocker box
  5. i don,t think it makes much difference, i have the first pole angled slightly away from me when i set them ,and the last pole goes in at the opposite angle, there wants to be abit of give , cos when a rabbit hits , it hits hard , i also have my netting tied in three places between each pole, its handy even if only the top line is tied in especially on set with the wind blowing in the same direction the net is set, i use trammels for most of my daylight work so its tied in anyway.
  6. i have both ,one net with 12mm poles and the rest with 9mm poles, i think the flexability in the 9mm poles stops them getting knock out the ground as much, its individual choice , but i prefer the smaller poles
  7. i just got an invite to go to the states to hunt bobcat and cougar with hounds , someone my sister in law knows , do you think i sould go?
  8. --> QUOTE(john b @ Jan 8 2007, 11:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about thre catagories then ? - longest body - longest nose to tail - heaviest. (not sure how the evidence works on this one) Any rat can be entered into multiple catagories. what about catagories for longest whiskers, cutest nose , biggest arsehole
  9. i didn,t know about the blood thing ,i like the little buggers too, i have quite a few books on moles and read them over again , sad really

    Out today

nice one any pictures don,t you get out often these days fish?
  11. i was making a comment , i did not say that me and peggy where the be all and end all of mole catching, prehaps if you crawl back out your arse , you can pick up on a few thing that will help you catch even more, like i said why f**k about in a hole only just big enuff to get the trap in ,give yourself some room to work, there is no way you are going to do a good job working in a hole you can hardly get your hand in,if you look back on my tape you will see why you don,t want a small hole
  12. teejay was tutored by a man that was tutored by another man that traps over 6000 moles a year , so i reckon he,s doing ok , i don,t see the point in making things difficult by having a tight hole there is also another good reason for making the hole bigger , but that is a closely guarded secret
  13. it is a rat , a bloody tree rat, just remember all the fuss a while ago , when the papers were putting up pictures of a forum member snaring foxes, he was not doing anything illegal at all , but they still twisted everything about to make the lad look bad, then heres foxhunter putting up a picture of a squirrel gutted by a .243, any non hunting person logging on and looking at that , is going to think its very clever and be really impressed with us hunters bragging about blowing up small furry animals.

    MY LOCAL SHOOT

you would be lucky to not have an eye put out
  15. i thought the post was lacking in detail, a bit too short and not enuff pictures
  16. the post was aimed at foxhunter, im just too idle to go the long root so , never mind all that ,are you allowed to shoot squirrels with a .243, it says on your certificate ?, for a few years i was only allowed to shoot deer with a .243 , the local plod didnt want me shooting foxes for some reason or other
  17. does it state on your certificate that you can shoot squirrels with your 243 ?, im restricted to deer and foxes, not that i would shoot a squirrel , cos i,m not blood thirsty, i just like to be out ,any shots are just a bonus.
  18. i saw a video of this being done in america , gassing/bombing gopher and mole runs , it don,t half make a mess, i can,t see it being very popular
  19. Posted a couple of spools down to you MOLEY it will help you out on your project am i geting some free twine ?
  20. i have caught jackdaws in squirrel cage traps , loads of times , just bait with bread or wheat,if your wanting to catch a few at a time then a simple wire cage of around 2 ft x 2ft and about 10inch high with a funnel will do the job, make sure the funnel is a fairly tight squeeze for them at its narrowest point or put bob wire on like a pigeon trap, just have it so they can get in and out the top or one side for a few days and then set the trap
