  2. there is no law to say he cannot sell them , its illegal to use them, things should change to stop this crap being sold to the unknowing public
  3. i get £1.20 per clean rabbit , gutted, upto 200 per week, off a gamedealer , he collects from my home thats a good price for that amount of rabbits off a game dealer, tha last 2 dealers i rang were both just 50p each one in richmond and one down here at bourne in lincolnshire. he offered that price and pays for quality, richmond = yorkshire game ? my mate sold them some frozen rabbs at 25 p each

  5. Moley, what I was saying is that one end seems to be more crimped at the bird end, the trap seems to be set before the bird to entice it in, to what possibly could be a dead chicken or something used as bait, you can also see the trap chain at the open end ..... got ya now, so it looks like a one entry tunnel with the chicken/bird for bait?
  6. they are best used in with rabbit fencing , but if you can dig them in next to a hole thru a wall they will work , when first put in you have to check for dig-unders regular and block them up , also give them time to work as it can take a while for the rabbits to run them, but not always, well drained areas are advisable or you spend too much time bailing them out
  7. chicken , lol , with white feet it could be a grouse ,
  8. could anyone enlarge that picture as those feet , if thats what they, are look too bulky to be off a kestrel
  9. once found a set of broken false teeth in the soil of a mole hill
  10. the way i understand it ,there are no laws to say you must check traps set for small ground vermin every day, that tunnel with the bird in it is much longer than most i see and looks like the ends have bin reduced to stop entry by non targets, pity the general public is ignorat of the laws
  11. Cats and foxes catch them and play with them without eating them sometimes - same goes for shrews. They must taste funny or something? OTC apparently they taste bitter so foxes etc dont eat them, i know my cat never did WELL LADS , I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE TASTE THEORY .................... AS I OFTEN FED MY FERRETS ON MOLES AND THEY READILY EAT THEM ALL THE BEST DUCKWING Yep .A friend feeds his freds skinned moles . Tis true though that water shrews have a toxic saliva and maybe other shrews give something nasty off if they have been grooming them
  12. To sell yes but to use no - they are a heap of junk Hundreds of Thousands made and so far as I know only 7 survive - the reason - they smashed themselves to bits when they fired. Total junk! OTC well if i had those 7 i would obviously give 6 away to my trap collecting friends
  13. i wish i was about when they manufactured sara rabbit traps , i would have bought a few hundred and put them on ebay
  14. dunno if these bikes are the genuine article , but best be careful as there are some cheap chinese copies being flogged that are as bad as the cheap traps you see for sale , i know of a couple of people that have bought this junk .
  15. take a look at the pest act 1954 section 9 , law , not guide lines ,end of What exactly is it in section 9 your refering to? im fascinated? the bit about being "within the overhang" , you asked me to show you where it said that and rolfe kindly found it
  16. we had 76 on saturday and i had 34 today of the fell edge, nothing showing any signs of being in young , theres fleck around the sets tho , so it won,t be long
  17. In that case just don't get bubbled then....... It would be much better if in situations like this both sides could work together; far too often we hear similar stories, and taking the line of f**k it I'll carry on and f**k them if they have a problem, I'll just have their birds (not aimed at you directly) does none of us any favours, and invairably someone looses out in the end. its far easier to work with , than against
  18. i thought that these doc traps would have bin available by now , anyone got thier mitts on one yet ? i was wanting a couple to try
  19. I dont think "but im sure i read something along the lines of..." would stand up in court. Trapping guidelines are not LAW. and considering the spring trap approval order which IS LAW was ammended in 2007 i would look again at anything you "maybe have read somewhere". i am also a great believer is apologising when im wrong....but im not in this case. Ed take a look at the pest act 1954 section 9 , law , not guide lines ,end of
  20. If your road legal you don't need a lid on the road either. Cheers, D. i got told insurance will not cover you without a helmet ,so thats interesting to know, cheers
  21. You might be right about it not being specified but I'm sure that I've read something along the lines of of " in such a way as to limit access to non target etc etc". Course this might be in one of the trapping guides rather than a law and now dammit I'll have to try and find the relevent bit just to satisfy meself. if you find that bit can you let me know as i like to keep up with the laws , there are some on here that seem to think that even when they cannot quote the correct laws that they are too high and mighty to admit they are wrong or appologise for trying to make others
