  1. NCC brought dope testing in around the early 90's, and had to decide what was and what could nt be administered. It got to the stage where cold tea could nt be given for fear of disqualification through failing dope testing, in the end IMO all it achieved was made it a more level running ground. Dogs have won major cups here and Eire only to have them stripped for failing dope tests in recent years Y.I.S Leeview
  2. rained like mad down here aswell but i already rolled the nets up and sorted the collar out before it started so it wernt gonna stop me Well done Daniel enjoy your pie " only a bit of rain you wont melt" my gran always used to say Y.I.S Leeview
  3. Any whiskey thats spelt with an E Y.I.S Leeview
  4. HHMMM funny you should mention that about ferrets going deep, we used to have a jill that never seemed to go deep but earned her keep by bolting rabbits that had left the depths of a warren, she was always there when a rabbit bolted but would turn and go back in Y.I.S Leeview
  5. IMHO I have no problem with a ferret killing below ground if it then moves on, its up to me then to decide wether to dig or not, several times ferreters on these sites say they work their ferrets without collars because their ferret always comes out(ask the working terrier lads how long they would keep a terrier doing this, or a lurcher pulling up in view of game?)I expect a good ferret to kill and move on or stay until I've dug to it if it has nt killed but is trying its best to kill the rabbit. not all ferrets will achieve this expectation so I dont breed from them if they dont, BEST WORKER
  6. Brian Brinded's are better lol Y.I.S Leeview
  7. how can you call people like me a hypocrite? i do not hunt out of season, to do so only gives the anti's more ammo, i do not condone anyone hunting out of season and not only for legal reasons but also out of respect for the quarry. plus ignorance makes it worse, the fact theyre going out hunting without even knowing about what theyre hunting! f*k me next they'l be putting up trophy shots of a barn owl they shot! So its ok for mb to break the law but not these 2 lads come on which is worse? they ve both broken the law but one is praised and the others crucified Y.I.S Leeview
  8. HYPOCRITS 2 youngsters rightly or wrongly shot some game birds out of season and your all up in arms Markbrick shoots deer out of season and its "GOD FOR YOU mate WELL DONE AT LEAST YOUR OUT DOING IT" One of the lads has put his hands up and admitted his ignorance Whats Markbrick done about it? Y.I.S Leeview
  9. Leeview mate as the law stands its legal to use up tp two dogs to flush hares to gun-guns with the landowners permission during daylight hours. although illegal to take them during darkness no matter what the method ( i think ) ? and out of season can be done under special license in extreme cases, but not a sign of a bullet wound in sight on any of those pics Y.I.S Leeview
  10. its illegal to run hares 24/7 with dogs. this topic was started at 8.30am this morning and pics only just deleted IMO damage done

  14. If i'm wrong leeview I stand corrected, is there a link anywhere to the rule? If that is the case what age can a greyhound be before it's too old to be entered in a puppy competition? A pup is eligible to run in a puppy stake the season after it was born so a January pup would be able to compete the following year come October through till the end of that season last day of February by which time it would possibly 2yrs and nearly a couple of months that would be the oldest it could be others born later obviously younger, pups can also run in an all aged stake but an all aged is not all
  15. I've had them looked at by an old lad that was into T.V. repairs he could check them over and calibrate them as good as new, the old electrical shops may have some one capable but doubtful they would bothered anymore. Its be mentioned many many times about not being that hard to copy but no ones come close yet, well not for ferrets Y.I.S Leeview
  16. Any length you like can be refered to as long nets, but usually less than 25yds they get refered to as stop nets Y.I.SLeeview

  20. You're getting greyhounds mixed up with horses mate. If a greyhound is born in October it is 1 year old the following October. Think you'll find they are both the same tote it definately does in coursing greyhounds and they run the stud book Y.I.S Leview Tote is right a greyhounds year runs until the last day of the month 12 months from that which it was born, october whelp is 1 on sept 30 http://www.ngrc.org.uk/rule_book.asp?rule=39 No tote is wrong that may well be ngrc ruling not ncc ruling as has been pointed out to myself due to coursing having an open and closed seaso

  22. You may not of noticed but this thread is not unanimous in favour of the greyhound Y.I.S Leeview
  23. That was my thought first time I saw the pic, but when we used to go catching hares the nets were always set like that and it worked ok Y.I.S Leeview
  24. Unparalelled piece of equipment on the market, but I'd go for the 4z IMHO Y.I.S Leeview Why is that. easiler to catch? I will be using when I am ferreting so might be in longer grass/scrub. Thanks IMHO 4z is the bees knees in longnets, (would n't touch a 4z purse net though) it hangs well and tangles the rabbits up easily Y.I.S Leeview
