    dont be so hard on the guy ,i used to race greyhounds and there where plenty of tales regarding colour " never trust a fawn with a black muzzle there dodgy" hell even the great ger mckenna (1 of the greatest ever to fasten a collar) was against blue dogs. all colours are the same till the dog does something wrong. just pick what you like mate and best of luck.

    thought it was a nice little show personally thought it was good choice of judge refreshing to find a judge who favours an animal built for coursing,rather than a muscle bound show pony or a dog bred more for rounding up sheep. To many anti saluki shows. at least hes walked the walk unlike alot of judges. some nice dogs though overall champion was nice and racey looking, and white and tan saluki x that won smooth bitch stood out

    finally found my little black bitch after 40hrs, took her for a walk friday night on my permission let her off with other dogs but she didnt come back, looked all over for her till it got dark, next day had family and mates walking up and down but nothing, took walk yesterday but only with my old lurcher chasing a few rabbits and what did she find? the little terriers jammed tight in a hole in the hedge bottom, area full of roots and it had caved in around her. Got her out easy enough lost abit of weight, taken alot of skin off pads, few cuts but nothing bad. glad to have her back but they do

    was thinking of using whippet beacuse i know the background of the dog, had recent experience of somebody saying one thing and then somebody saying complete opposite about same dog. smaller land round here so plenty of speed from whippet would be good thing just dont wanna lose the saluki influence too much want pups similar size to bitch 24" , whippet dog is not tiny prob about 22"/23"

    after reading certain posts and getting others opinions on certain dogs i have decided against the original stud dog i was intersted in. my bitch is roughly 5/8 saluki 3/8 greyhound, a lad i know has a strain of working/racing whippets he has kept and bred for a number of years, has a nice looking dog bit bigger and less fragile looking than a pedigree whippet was thinking of using this dog. what are your thoughts of this much whippet in the pups? anybody had similar cross?

    just looking through some of the pictures on this site and have seen various crosses and was just wondering about breed dominance , does it exist ? ie if you cross a pure greyhound with a pure saluki do the pups usually throw more one way than the other? whats the most dominant blood type? One of main reasons for asking was considering using a whippet stud dog over my bitch(3/4 saluki), want smaller faster dogs but still with alot of saluki qualites. would i be better off using a whippet cross?

    ive had several good hare dogs,ive owned dogs who wasnt up to it and ive had just as many dogs who could run all day but wouldnt take there quarry pre ban,but when i see dvds of coursing men sliping on hares just getting out of there seat it makes me cringe,on my permission 90% of the landowners would throw me off there land if they caught me doing this,i just cant see what it proves ? where i live ,i take my dogs to a specialist in greyhounds,and it is full of fools on a sunday morning who are bragging that there dogs can catch 5 or 6 when reallisicallly they would struggle too catch one s

    been to a couple of shows this spring and is it me or are the terriers getting bigger? some of them would struggle to get through a garage door let alone any where else. i have a smaller patterdale terrier bitch solid as a rock but stands no more than 11" anybody else keep a smaller terrier

    i have a two yr old patt*parson russell he is keen as mustard but a little bit vocal above ground, really yappy its been suggested this is due to russell my pure patterdales will sit teathered up trembling with excitement ready for their turn to work but he yaps and whines. brilliant worker but he dont half wind me up.

    had a word with my neighbour he's big into target rifle shooting said you can fire any calibre at bridlington rifle range just might have to down grade your loads depending on what your firing.

    do you have any strange rules when picking, i guy i know will never have a fawn greyhound with a black muzzle says they are not genuine. personally im not a big fan of brindles so would pick one of those last but other than that i think its just about going with your gut and pickin what you like

    what do you look for when you find a well bred litter? Had alot to do with greyhound trainers when i was younger and some of their superstitions about choosing pups were mad. i bought one pure bred greyhound a while ago guy before me wanted a black dog only one in litter it turned out an open champion my blue dog was a good grader, is it all luck what if there had been 2 black dogs? do you have your own pointers when it comes to choosing?

    why?. do you have dog wich is this breed i owned one bought it of ginger yrs ago not much different to a 3/4 still a very fast bitch even with all the added saluki( could have been different cross tho knowing ginger) genetics is a funny thing hardly an exact science so wouldnt waste to much time with fractions and percentages, she was bought because she looked well big feet and deep chest turned out a nice pup

    Im not sure bud.it said in last weeks cmw. spoke to the owner seemed really decent guy, pepsi is bred full saluki* whippet/greyhound it wasnt the lurcher show he won he's a real worker injured stiffle so standing at stud

    yeah thanks mate , at least i still have the red grizzle boy..Ali...hes a real nice biddable pup, quite strong made he is too and seems to have a bit of pace for his age both fine looking animals, hope they turn out as good as they look
