    Ban

I notice farting in public isn't banned. Out with the beans then....
  2. I'd tend to agree with you, except that it'd be behaviour/competence that would be weeded out not genes. There's no difference in the genes of polecats and the genes of ferrets. The only difference is their behaviour, and competence at living in the wild. And before anyone asks why it is possible to differentiate between ferrets and polecats using DNA analysis, that uses mitochondrial DNA not nuclear DNA.
  3. It's already happened. You don't think your average medieval ferreter got all their ferrets back do you?
  4. Wonder if his mates call him 'Adolf' now?
  5. Look like normal ferrets to me, but maybe a normal, slim fit ferret is so unusual nowadays that it has to be given a special name. Like Kay said earlier, the norm among pet owners seems to be like a feckin seal...
  6. Half the bloody English can't speak English either......
  7. Why were you bathing it? New plaything syndrome?
  8. That's assuming that ferret colour genes follow Mendelian principles. Ie one gene one colour. Only thing you can guarantee is that you'll get ferrets.
  9. Catcher, you are a total cynic and I applaud you.
  10. Thee thy thasen an see ow thy likes it.
  11. Totally agree. Same might be said of those who deliberately breed BEWs and silvers
  12. Sorry, but after 30 seconds the Anti-Prat function kicked in and I had to stop watching.
  13. Fookin welders gloves? He's a laaaaad ain't he?
  14. Hard to take, mate. But it's a useful warning to the fruit-loops that advocate battering anyone that upsets them.
  15. I certainly believe they existed in the past, and still do.
  16. Makes me laugh this. I'm probably older than most of the 'Learning stopped in 1970' old farts. Hey, let's all reinvent the wheel
  17. And I love someone stuck in the past. Things change, knowledge improves. Or do you still feed milk and slops and snap teeth?
  18. Now for once I'm going to agree with poacher. Chesterfield: the Town that Time Forgot.
  19. Jamie's hit the nail on the head there, I think. Back in the day, ferrets were almost exclusively working animals and were bred for a type. Since pet ferrets became more popular, that 'type' has changed from the lean rangy 'greyhound' type to the stumpy 'cuddlebucket' type that most pet owners seem to prefer. Those who say it's feeding: the genetics just determines the potential size/shape of the animal. Whether that animal reaches it's potential is determined by it's upbringing. thac can include the nutrition of the mother while pregnant.
  20. Greyhound ferrets are just longer leaner ferrets, like Kay says. It's not down to feeding, it's down to genetics.

    RIP

    RIP. Still a fookin legend.
  22. The trouble with any discussion like this is that it boils down to the following: Guns should be allowed, concealed or otherwise, for fine upstanding citizens (like ME). Guns should not be allowed for untrustworthy, feckless, irresponsible or criminally minded people (like any group I don't happen to like).
  23. Rode round Sutherland last summer. Superb place, very lonely. Came back with a lot of memories, and an invitation to make a £60 donation to the Northern Constabulary....
