Very few medicines are licensed for ferrets. The jill jab is about the only one. Lack of licensing for ferrets can't be used as a reason for not vaccinating.

As long as the vet's honest about the prognosis for the animal, then the decision is with the owner. In that much I agree with jigsaw.

Ferrets don't get human colds. Cold viruses are species specific, i.e. they only infect one species of animal.
No idea whether they can catch gastroenteritis from humans though.

Thanks, they have a 4ft x 6ft shed that they sleep in and a 16ft x 11ft area to run in that is a fenced off area with play things and a smaller house to sleep in during the day !!

Cabrales, comes from Asturias in northern Spain. Bloody strong, and you can't see the maggots because they're really small. Brilliant cheese.
