  1. Yeah I have decided to contact a gun dealer tomorrow and gonna ask him about it and maybe pop it over for him to take a look, if he's able to do that sort of thing. I dont think its even worth me trying to figure it out for myself, or I'll end up doing more harm than good. Thanks for all your help chaps. Typical this is my favourite time of year to shoot, and I was about to book into an airgun holiday house for a week with a rough shoot
  2. I had the silencer on shortly after I got the gun, and it fired fine then.
  3. What are the rotary bi-supial valve and clack over? And how do I clean them?
  4. Thanks, I dont have another scope though. I was thinking of taking the silencer off and trying the iron sights on again, but I was never that accurate with those anyway, so i dunno how much they would help.
  5. I got my HW90 with a gasram about 3-4 years ago, it shot beautifully and was accurate with accupels up to 60 yards. But then I stopped shooting and my gun was put away for about 1.5 - 2 years, only being used rarely. Now I have started using it again and the zero had dropped by an inch or more, which might suggest the gasram has lost a bit of pressure. Over the past few weeks I have noticed that the zero does not stay the same, and on 2 occasions it has shifted 1 inch low and also a bit too high in the middle of plinking sessions. It hasn't moved to the left or right, just up an
  6. Nice area and good shooting there. Whats shimming the scope meen?
  7. I've tried those before, I've tried many different brands, and although they are good, they dont shoot to well in my HW90. Accupel are the most accurate and hard hitting for my gun. But lately as I'm now a student again I'm finding myself leaning towards the cheaper brands, like Marksman which are only £3.75 for 500. The best pellets I have ever fired are Crosman Premiers, but they are out of my price range.
  8. I've seen a number of online retailers with OUT OF STOCK written on the accupels and no others, so something it would seem is up.
  9. awww why shoot babies? Is it pest control or something? I'd stick to adults if it were me and give the wee ones a chance.
  10. Dont have a chrono to try it with. I wish there was someway to chrono a pellet by how deformed it was when hitting a brick.
  11. I know the rule of thumb that the maximum distance is how far you can get a few shots into an inch circle. But how far is the actual effective range? I dont wanna waste my time trying to get used to shooting at say 50 yards if my pellets aren't gonna hit with any power anyway. At the moment I go for 30 yards. But my garden is about 60 yards long or more. Would a pellet retain enough killing power at 60 yards? I hear the minimum killing power is about 4ft/lb so how would I test this?
  12. But this is surely a worrying trend. There is no substitute to a teacher explaining things and helping us to comprehend something. Using Google is making kids lazy in their search for knowledge. And also alot of information on the internet is wrong anyway! And even when its right it is often written by someone with bad grammar and spelling. Not to mention the detail that most sites go into is worthy of a 12 year old at best. And this is being used to substitute teaching!!
  13. Recently I have got sick of having to search google on my college course. It seems like every time we are in lesson they just say "search google" and its realy annoying. For instance, how can I or anyone be sure of how accurate the information we are getting is? It seems like the internet is giving teachers a reason to be lazy, and instead of actualy teaching us anything they just hand the job over to the net. And I've also noticed a lack of decent material in Libraries. For instance, my college library has books that are way out of date, and they are more or less pointless compar
  14. Says the man with an Anarchist symbol as his avatar :whistling: Lol thats not an anarchist symbol its the cover art for The Venture Bros http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gnn0Vd3qNfQ
  15. He's just got the gift of the gab, he'll use the office to benefit himself and nothing else. This will be a disaster for us and a triumph for his bank account.
  16. Dont know much about what the parties actualy stand for, except corruption. But I hope the conservatives will try and get rid of all the red tape around hunting with air rifles.
  17. I would leave the pigeons for a few days and then take pictures of the droppings. Typical the licence doesn't say what is actualy considered a health risk. But I think droppings on garden furniture, door step etc (or anywhere it might find its way onto your shoes and then in your house) would do.
  18. The trigger is fine, and can be adjusted by a screw, I have it set so it doesnt take much pressure to pull.
  19. I have a HW90 with a gasram which I've recently started using again and have had a springer and these are my OPINIONS so hopefully no one will throw 'da faktz' at me 1. less recoil and it seems less 'two way' than with springers and more manageable 2. less noise 3. harder to cock (or maybe thats just the HW90) 4. alot more consistent (but maybe depends on the maker of the gun) 5. can leave it cocked with no apparent loss of power, but with springers there is a noticeable drop in power. I prefer it to my old springer.
  20. I'm just trying to do some legitimate pest control. Whats the beef? You guys realy know how to make a noob feel unwelcome!
  21. Oh I see, well I'm sorry if I got it wrong. I have tried traps before with a past rat problem and they never worked for me so I gave up on them.
  22. Well, if That may be taken to encapsulate your stance and attitude? Not a lot of point in anyone with a clue trying to convince you otherwise, is there? Carry on. I'm not sure what you meen by that. What I'm asking in that question is if anyone knows wether rats would come out when a person is near. I have no idea how clever rats are or if they would smell me etc. I'm only asking for a little help, no need for wise guy remarks, we dont all have years of experience.
  23. Thanks I'll try that. Another question to add to the list but am I right in thinking that I don't need a license to have my 12ft/lb air rifle?
  24. I have a HW90 .22 and I have had it years and never had it tested. Is there a cheaper way to do it than buying a Chrono? The cheapest I can find is £40 which is no laughing matter when your a student without a job.
