agrifabs replied to boycey 1's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
i have 25 in the incubator due this weekend, i also have 13 in my garage at 3 weeks old, im not selling them though because they will be my stock for next year, i plan on getting the eggs , incubating them and then selling the poults, where about are you in south wales mate? -
I'll keep you in mind for the future mate! I was going to get panels in the first place but when i priced them up it came to over £400 then the price of the two kennels and the cost of the roof!! I got the runs, kennels and roof all ready made just need the panels bolted together for £750 delivered and it saved a lot of hassle! or it will do when they arrive!!!!! Scouse £750! for how many panels? whats sizes are they? sorry, just re-read that!! makes sense now, although i would have been cheaper on the panels!! cos im cheaper at everything!!!

funny you should mention that, a bloke i used to work with said that he used to dye red diesel blue, and his excuse was going to be if he was dipped was that he was dyeing his diesel blue because people had been stealing his diesel... not sure if that would work... i doubt it though.. its about time the government pulled their fingers out of each others arses and realise that THEY are ruining OUR country. its odd, the people who work get taxed the most, but if your a lazy fecker and you cant be bothered to work then they pay you?!!!? how stupid is that, so really speaking, if we al

god, theres some bitching on here...!! if you think that you really need a goat then go and get one, we bought ours from the freeads i thibk she was about £50 about 10 years ago, id watch the tethering thing if i was you, i mentioned before what happened to our goat - it wasnt nice. but on the other hand, you wont be the first or last person to tether a goat, if your alotment is that big, do you know anyone with a small compact tractor with a flail mower? it would all be done in an hour. where abouts are you in south wales?
-
dont think im not genuine mate... its not nice having a dead goat on your hands...
-
Tethering a goat is cruel and dangerous, please don't do it. i can back this up... we used to have a british toggenburg, real nice goat, we 'stupidly' tethered it for a few weeks until we got our fencing sorted, on one particular day there was alot of low flying aircraft, the goat (named becky) must have got frightened and got to the end of her tether, she strangled herself and died, when my parents found her dead a few hours later, her neck had been eaten. we think it was either a wild cat or a bird of prey, i remember my mother crying, so it just goes to show, you should'nt

this is a good way of doing it, take the live from the back of the headlight bulb so the fog will only work if headlights on, i didnt know it was a legal reqiurement that the fog only works the main beam is on...

cant beat my 90 truck cab, cost £400 to buy spent £700 sorting it out, been offered £2000 for it, but nah...! better than my £8k freelander i had that cost me over £4k in parts...
-
yes the re test has got to be done at the same test station, it would'nt be worth your while taking it else where because the 'new' station might find other things wrong, does the fog light have to only work when the main lights are on then? i dont think they have to, i would personaly just wire up a fog light straight off the battery through a switch, and when it passes - just disconnect it again...

is it worth keeping them if there is only 2 well... yes, its my first time hatching and rearing so i really want to learn from my mistakes, i only have 11 anyway!! but ive got another 24 in the incubator so the more i learn the better my techniques on rearing the chicks will become, but its not as though ive got a large opperation running and i rely on them to put food on the table! its just a learning curve, mistakes will be made.

to feed two poor looking pheasant chicks? the other ones i have are all healthy and look real good, but there are two that look a bit skinny - almost like the runts, i have seperated them from the other chicks as they are getting trampled by the bigger, stronger chicks. what can i feed them to strenthen them up?
