  1. Ive a beddyxwhippet thats also 19 months old.She had her first season at 13 months and her second at 17 months. My terrier bitch is 2 years old and has had 3 seasons, first at 9 months then at 15 and again at 21.HTH's
  2. Can only echo what Brummy says.My beddiexwhippet is 19 months old now and this will be her first season on the lamp, but she's been coming out with the ferts since she was 6 months old and catching bolters not long afterwards.Very quiet and good natured little dog,but if it kicks off she wont back down, and is fearless in the field. As a ferreting and general mooching dog you wont go wrong with a beddiexwhippet, great nose, courageous and deceptively fast, but on bigger fields there are far more capable crosse's.HTH's
  3. Happy birthday Mal and may you have many more mate,Slange
  4. He's a cracker Sarah, and the image of a border/grey my dad had in the 60's called "Laddie" i'll try and find some pics. All the best with him.Bill
  5. Before three days old, good quality clippers or sharp scissors and a silver stick to stop bleeding.I have a dog with and a dog without dew claws and my old man never did his collie/greys.Neither myself nor my old man ever had a dog laid up with dew claw injuries, but i do know people who have had problems with there dogs injuring the dew claws.
  6. As you know Mal i have a soft spot for this cross,i'm sure he wont dissapoint you mate.Keep us updated on his progress. All the best,Bill
  7. Lookin well mate, plenty of growing left to do judging by them feet.
  8. seven weeks if possible, its very important at this stage to socialise pups into new surroundings getting them ready for life later on. pups go through distinct phases, six to twelve weeks is an important time for that imprinting from handler to respect pack leadership.pups left in kennel enviroments can be harder to socialise. Spot on mate.
  9. Its a myth that genuine first crosse's are always blue/grey broken/rough coated. My bitch is a first cross, Rillingtonx pied whippet.some of the litter were blue some fawn.Ive seen numerous first crosse's that were fawn, sandy, blue, with varying degrees of white on them. Some of the working lines of bedlington seem to throw more variety of colours when crossed with whippets, maybe this is to do with the outcrossing to lakelands/borders but im no expert. This should be in the running dog section as Eamonn mentioned
  10. Some are born wirey and from a few weeks old its obvious they will be rough cated, but as pointed out some born smooth do become rough/broken cated as they get older.
  11. A guessing game mate.My beddyxwhippet bitch was smooth till she was 6 months old then became broken coated and eventually ended up rough coated.
  12. gap in the market there - would make a killing Good point mate,we'll be business partners.
  13. Got to agree that the Lightforce build quality and wiring is questionable to say the least, and i know that myself umerous friends and other forum members have emailed them to point out these problems so im sure they are aware.Thing is though, the light output and beam are far superior to anything else on the market,so folk will still continue to buy the lamps.I have both a clulite and a striker, clulite is very robust but the beam is no match for the striker. Now a lamp with clulites build quality and robustness, and the lightforce beam would be brilliant.
  14. Nice post gunner Ive always given a percentage of my catch to some of the old folk near me,they love it and are always appreciative.
  15. Kids noticed some dodgy looking characters hanging around the bar whilst they were taking off in the helicopter. As Winchester says,Tam, Ian and some of the other forum members made the day even more enjoyable P.S. Rumour has it the helicopter fuel was coming from Tam's hip flask
  16. Not the biggest gamefair ive been to,but the company and the entertainment were top class.Weather could not have been better and myself and the family had a great day, kids went up in a helicopter (no way would you get me up there) watched medieval jousting, falconry displays, motorcycle stunts etc etc. Afew pics.
  17. I thought it was a bit quiet, not many dogs, but the entertainment was good, and the entry fee more realistic than some.Bar was a bit unsteady though so me and a couple of other forum members had to stand next to it to stop it collapsing.
  18. Not sure it would work mate, the blitz has a much bigger reflector than the striker.
  19. All the best lads, hope you have a good night and the dogs stay healthy.
  20. Fine looking animal there pal, credit tp you,and looks like she can do the biz as well.
  21. I have a beddiexwhippet here, whilst she doesn't have the brains of my colliex she is very good natured and obedient.
  22. Mark ffs pick your dummy up and get on with working your dogs. You obviously rub a few folk up the wrong way,but i honestly think you are a decent bloke, and id gladly take you out with me if you were ever in my neck of the woods.I'll admit that the site has had a influx of piss takers lately, but id never lose sleep about someones oppinion of me, really couldnt give a flying f*ck.My dogs are no world beaters, but they mae me smile and earn there keep. I always try never to be personal on forums,as we can only judge someone on what they type, but i was guilty of overstepping the line one time, and
