  1. It looks to me that being a 'countryman' is a state of mind, not based on where you live or were brought up, much like being a 'townie' doesnt mean you live in a town. its just a shame that we cant send the townies to live in town and us countrymen cant have their posh village houses!!
  2. I'll take my waders just in case!!!!!!!!
  3. Just seen this advertised on the selby game fair web site. What is it, has it been on before? Anyone been?
  4. Dont you just love Blairs Britain? Neither do i.
  5. I was wondering where all the dog and ferret lads(and lasses) who use this site live, ie. town or country. The reason i ask is that i live in a large village, but most of the twats who live here wouldnt know a rabbit from a rottweiler!!!! It makes me cross when i read about 'townies', when i know a lot of town dwellers who know more about the country way of life than a lot of people in my village. So its not where you live, but your attitude that counts, in my book.
  6. I built an extension which included a purpose built dog room for my lurchurs. Then got a new missus who had 3 collies. Bit of a squeeze, and i was thinking of putting up a kennel. Now i have seen rozeskys set up, i am thinking i could do the same thing from my dog room, ie. put a run on the uotside, and knock pophole from the dogroom. Keep showing your different setups, it givs us all ideas how we can better our own setups!
  7. Just heard usk is cancelled this weekend due to waterlogged field. Any one heard about highclear?

I work on a farm, we have tons of the stuff, and right now id rather drive to fu#king wales to deliver the poor sod some straw, rather than read one more post about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. It doesnt matter how well you bring your kids up, its the temptation to experiment, to look cool with their mates, that gets kids started on drugs. The other halfs 16yr old lad, anti smoking and squeeky clean, started to do dope. We, luckily, found out soon enough, and stopped it. He is still grounded, part of his "re-hab" is to de shit the garden, cut the lawn, wash up, in fact anything his mum wants him to do. We put the wind right up him, told him he had to live with his dad unless he shaped up. We hope he has given up, and can see how close he came to fu#king up his life, and others around

Does the sunday simmo not qualify for the finals in sept? If i only go on sunday and win, will i have to go back and try again on monday. If i only go on monday, and win, do i qualify? Help!

  19. Did anyone go to the lurchurworld show this weekend? Is it right the racing is now run after the showing?
  20. Has anyone ever raced their dogs there, is it a qualifyer, and what standard was the racing? I heard a rumor that they didnt use muzzles. Not for me, that.
  21. Is that the voice of experience! mmm i wonder...... I have a beardie /grey cross, very hairy, and folks at shows tell me she looks like the old Norfolk types. Not the quickest, but a top ferreting dog, always at the right hole when the bunnie bolts, brave into thick cover, and in 7 years, never injured. So the type still exists, but maybe only in looks.
  22. Ive always been a ferret, net and dog man. Love it as a sport, and always have. But this weekend, the wind was howling, the nets were tangling, and i was getting pissed off. As the farmer had just cleared the trees and bushes from the old railway bank, i thought i might try bolting rabbits to shoot them. A quick rturn home, dumped the dogs(very pissed off dogs) And out with the blunder buss. In 2 hours i had shot 11 bunnies, not bad. It was great fun, untill i got home and the dogs refused to greet me. Will i do it again? Yes, but only when the lurchers arnt looking
