  1. hi josh seffa here when you say not experenced enough on hare what do you mean my harris caught hares for me last year but cant seem to get her to hit them this year she will take anything else ive been thinking about getting a gos for about ayear now do you think your bird will take them later on. thanks seffa aup mate she will go at hare but what i mean but not experianced enough she is hitting them on the back end rather than the head, so she hasnt experianced that hitting the head of any quarry stops them rather than the back end, so once shes hitting stuff on the head in a few week

  6. yes true mate, many folk have told me to get an imprint but iv seen what they can do. you look like your going to have a big female if thats a male, and yes spoke to keith on the phone he seems honest enough, most lads nowadays wud of advertised her as full finnish even if theres a chance of a 50/50 dad! atb with you bird mate, keep in touch and ill keep you updated on my progress with the gos. take care josh
  7. good work slyfox, looks like you'v been hard at it mate.
  8. hi jasper thats right the father could be either a 50/50 or one of two pure finnish males, should have some good fun. atb josh

  10. picking my female finnish goshawk up on thursday, she is being shipped over from ireland, she is a p/r bird, she was bred from an imprint female who is mick kane bred and topped out at 2LB 15oz hunting weight, the dad is not known for certian but it is either from a 50/50 male, or two finnish males, by artificial insemination, her sister is currently on the creance at 2LB 13oz. photo of her mum. this is the mum
  11. got a small female 1Lb 14oz £250
  12. very unlikely not to be a buzzard especially how it has kill 5 or 6, im 99% sure it is a charlie fox, the fox aims to only eat one at a time but kills every chicken that has seen him to stop the noise! not saying you are blaming the buzzard but the buzzard gets blaimed for many cases like this by gamekeepers nowadays just if they knew how laid back buzzards were they would much rather take a rabbit lieing at the side of the road been flattened by a lorry, tha a pheasant walking around at the end of there nose. atb

  16. hi all iv been a member on this forum for quite a while but i dont come on it much but i will be from now on. so abit about my self im a very keen hunter in everyway and into everything, from shooting fox with 243. to catching the rainbow trout on a mayfly. iv been a passionate falconer since i was 7 years old, im now 17 and have flown harris's since i started out, iv also imprinted a female spar and flow a p/r male finish goshawk last season, here are a few pictures of the birds i have flown this is a last year imprint spar, she is a very keen hunter and just wants to kill magpie's
  17. i thinks its brill that he fancies the step up to the mighty gos but if he doesnt yet know of the various species of goshawks about then i dont think he should yet be looking to buy one, iv been studying the gos for 3 years now, and been out with plenty i flown a male finish p/r bird last season and got on fine but they are one hell of a step up from the harris. what is the reason he wants a goshawk ? e.g is it because he fancies a change? wants to kill more? genuinly likes the gos? etc etc. there are many questions to ask yourself before aquiring a goshawk, does he have enough permition
  18. funny you all mention oxford as i was travelling along the a40 through oxford last week on the way to work and seen a large female soaring not very high, on the way back about 4 hours later it was still there were we go fly fishing in wales there are redkite farms. hundreds of red kites gather when the meat is dumped by the farmer it is something everyone must see.
