i dont know why you would want it a live but flesh bait will work fine, the cage will need to be quite fine mesh, I find trapping stoats best if you place in a natural road way (hedge or A stone wall). a trap set in a good pile of rocks always works well as stoats especially young one when they start to come out love to explore piles of rocks.
