    the royal welsh showground in builth wells would be a perfect venue, central to a lot more boys imho. purpose built venue, good infastructure, well drained, rail links the whole 9 yards. Just my opinion. the new venue in carmarthen hasnt got the atmosphere that the old site had, and full of stalls selling f***ing hot tubs and the like, isnt going to create much either. where are the rows and rows of stall selling leads, and all other dog related stuff.

    I went on holidays years ago to michigan, detroit, troy to be exact, swam, or rather paddled in lake eyrie and i think huron ??? never saw wildlife like that, but did see a deer when we went up to canada for a spin. Nice scenery.

    red kites are an everyday occurrence where i live, soaring high or low over the fields, and when they start to cut the sileage...form an orderly queue !!. Isnt it strange how we take things for granted, had my relations here once and the one called the other out from the house, quick, quick.i thought there was something wrong..........whats up????, they were looking at the kite above, i was looking for something out of the ordinary lol.

    you;ve got the right idea mate but in the wrong order, get your dvd's if you want, but most importantly is get a mentor, be his shadow for a season or two even, watch, ask questions, get used to handling a bird, THEN ask yourself is this what i want, if its still yes, go for it. Many mentors will become life long friends and are always available to give advice and support. They to are glad of a kindred spirit and fellow enthusiast on occassion. Enjoy.

    my first clock was a benzing.them with the microscopic thimbles lol, you had to concentrate when you were trying to get a rubber in there lol, especially if it was an early bird lol like trying to thread a needle lol

    Well pete, i thought it was a bullfinch at first mate tbh from a distance...as there are some around here, but on closer inspection i saw what i thought was the cockbird carrying a faecal sack, but got the bino's out and saw it was a white brow stripe, migrate to africa apparently pete.so my book tells me, never had one nest here before, i have nest boxes all over the garden but never seen one of them mate.
