  2. Today started out pritty poorly for me having taken the dog out for a walk nearby to return to my new motor, the window was in pieces amongst the gravel and the content's was missing....scummy f"""kers! Any how this did not stop us going out on the lamp. My lurcher of 6months comes on all my shooting hunting trips and this was no different i bunddled him into the back of the truck with a great viewing spot. He was keen to get at the rabbits which we lamped (to my suprise). My mate took a shot at a rabbit over 70yards away which he clipped (unusual). the rabbit bolted down the bank with

  5. My lurcher pup of 6months is out growing the house so i have begun the groundwork on a caged run and sleeping compartment out in the garden. i feel he isnt going to like it at first but hopefully he will adjust. he is a greyx bullx wippet and at 6months he is best part of 22" what advice do you guys have on the size i should construct my run to?? Secondly how are your dogs kept, indoors/outdoors. Does where a dog stays / sleeps effect his hunting abilitys?
  6. My 6month old bullxgreyxwippet was bitten at a young age on two seperate occations by a jack russel. ever since then he has always been submissive towards other dogs to the extent he will roll on his back and lie there with other dogs present. he loves to socialise with other dogs chase them and be chased ect... however i am fed up of him falling to the ground and lying on his back when i want him to stick up for himself as it were is this likly to effect him as a rabbiting dog???
  7. if its canned meat from the tesco ect... that you feed your pup then there is plenty of water in them anyway. my greyxbullxwippet was similar when i fed him the canned food but since i have put him onto hard biscuit he has been drinking loads. although he has always loved to drink from streams and rivers anyway.
  8. my 6 month old lurcher grey x bull x wippet will retrieve any object to hand inside the house without fail i throw him balls, rabbit dunnys ect...you name it he will retrieve it. however when i take the training to the next level retrieveing in the garden his return rate drops to maybe 1 in 3. he will fetch the dummy and simply play with it. when i try to get it from him he runs off. if i am out in the feilds he will chase down a ball at speed get the ball then run back to me within 8yards or so if i try and get the ball/dummy he will run off with it. occasionally he will bring it back to hand
