are you regrettingbuyng yourbull cross? once you have a bullcross as long as you seehim right he will never ever let you down. he will never work half cocked and he will never jack before he dies!! and youll never own a lurcher without at least "a bit of bull" in it!!! No mate no regrets hes been a star already at just 7 months i was just intrested in peoples throughts of this cross as i have read in books ect where they get alot of critism.i am over the moon with his progress although i have no expirence with others crosses i would have another bull cross no bother

All lurcher crosses have there good and bad points. Having my first lurcher i decided to get some reading done and in several of these books the bull crosses seem to get a fair bit of critism. I have a grey bull pup and hes comming along great but since this is my 1st dog i have nothing to compair him to. What are your thoughts on the bull cross used in lurchers????

Sound thanks for the replys i have put sudocream on it for now which i didnt like i will see how he gets on reluctant to take him the vets see due to the stupid amount we have to pay.

My bull grey pup whilst playing in the garden has managed to hurt himself he will not put weight on his front leg. i have found a small cut above his pads thinking this may be the problem. i have bathed it in salt water and put some antiseptic cream on it ~(human stuff) will this be sufficient??any help grateful

That second pup looks a nice one hope they work for you mate.

Snap go the front legs im guessing..!

The rabbit although injured had plenty of go in it but rip was onto it like lightning he even retrived it the little beauty 1st slip and he nails one.

with regards to your comments above i have always gone about it in that manor being polite ect... however no such luck so far i will keep try though. i am only 22yrs of age so maybe my age stands against me??? i find that in this buisness its not how good, polite, keen, trustworthy ect... you are its simply who you know.the land which i am fortunate to hunt over are friends of the family ect.
-
I find its any kind of hunting mate. we knock the door the reply is 'we already have someone comming up' then we look over the rape fields which are covered in pigeons and destroyed and as for the amount of rabbits its untrue...!
-
This is my 1st lurcher, 1st pouch in fact hes a grey bull cross with a hint of wippet in him 6.5months comming on great. 1 slip 1 rabbit all be it on an injured one but he did well.
-
I see where your comming from. Its annoying tho because these guys or the farmers dont do much i dont know many around here who have the time resources and eagerness to get out there and get the job done week in week out..!
-
Its something i have never been able to understand. Rabbits killing crops digging holes all in the fields buggering hedgerows, pigeons destroying crops, foxes killing lambs and chickens yet land owners and farmers dont allow us to shoot the land and help them out.weird..!
-
its hard mate to get any decent permission where i live and where i go......most of the gamekeepers and farmers are all up their own arse thats why we all poach I agree its extreemly hard to get land where i live, this goes for any type of hunting/shooting. i am yet to poach but it seems to be heading that way. how do you get away with lamping fields tho with spot lights and not get seen.what would happen if someone did see/catch you?? i run as fast as i can back to the motor and drive as fast as i can.....if they catch me and i have to face them then i will talk to them.....as f

6ft fence ...! Looks like i am going to have to raise the heights of my garden fences. the clever lil f'''k has already jumped onto the ferret cage and over the top of an 8ft wall to a main road twice..
-
These are quotes i have read in books i found it a little hard to believe but my 6month old pup is clearing 4ft fences with ease am struggling to think what heights he will be clearing when hes older
-
I am led to beliaeve that it is important to teach my lurcher to jump. he seems to be getting good at it as he will clear a barbed wire fence with ease. how high can a lurcher jump i have read in books that they have been known to clear a minibus???is there a record out there to be beaten??
-
Hes grey bull with a hint of wippet very little wippet in him.throught yours looked older than that tho.
-
Whats his age he looks identical to my bull grey of just 6 and a half months

i use an orange filter on my tracer max found that the red filter didnt let enough light through it and the rabbits where more difficult to see. The orange filter is now due a change so will be trying other colours like green to keep them rabbits guessing.
