I'm glad your not trying to cause trouble. Rimfired in the cage and then blood washed off everything in the river. Just to clear this one up, I have the utmost respect for any quarry that I hunt, be it rat, rabbit, mink or deer. Now I understand why people are loathe to post on this forum. This was my second post and it will be my last, thanks gentlemen, enjoy your sport.

As well as getting stuck into the rat snaring I'd been on the river and noticed masses of mink mark just upstream from where the EA had placed huge boulders to strengthen the bank. I dusted off my cage trap and got the river keeper to drive me down to the chosen spot. I had the fat of the rump steak I'd had for supper the night before as bait. I positioned the trap right on the mink motorway. I like to make sure that the mink can see straight through to the other end, to encourage them to enter. I tied it to branch to make sure it didn't get carried away and baited it with the ste

Just thought I'd share my rat snaring experiences with you all. The shoot of which I'm a syndicate member, had been absolutely overrun with rats. In my abscence through working abroad, I decided I'd have a go at them using whip snaring. I boned up on the whys and wherefores in the pinned section, thanks Snareman, and contacted Holdaway at Trapworks. I looked on his website and found what I was looking for. The next day my kit arrived. I had a couple of dry runs to make sure that I was getting the technique right and I was up to speed. I cut myself some 4-5ft hazel whips, enough for 12

How did you get on at Rutland? Try Eyebrook or treat yourself to a day at Foremark, excellent fishing and top of the water stuff, floating lines and nymphs, dries.

Try using sharpened bycycle spokes, they're made from hardened steel and will last for ever. When I was working in Mozambique the locals used to stab each other in the heart with them, not reccomended!

Hi here's a quick way to catch your initial call bird. Set your Larsen and put a load of litter, chip shop wrappers, empty food cans around your trap. Inside put a slice of bread. The modern magpie knows all about scavenging laybys and road verges and you'll be amazed at how quick it'll work. I've used this method in my back garden and caught very quickly. Hope this helps -
Hi guys I'm a new member and this is my first post so here goes. I love Glen Waters and Woodgas articles on rabbit snaring. I have over a 100 snares set to ash pegs and have been using hazel teelers and want to upgrade them to the wire teelers. Does anyone know if they can be bought, just the teelers. If Glen or Woodga can help either by instruction or by purchase I would be very grateful. I'm not the worlds greatest handyman so if any one can show me how they're made that would be great. Tight wires everyone macsas
