  1. after a lot of request's I have split the set up. (lure machine/battery already spoken for) I have for sale 9 lure coursing rollers made by injoy in the USA these are the proper gear not cheap rubbish sold in the UK, these rollers tave top quality bearings meaning they will last for many years without any maintanance, these rollers bought from the USA including postage and VAT would be just short of £300. i'll take £150 for them may consider swop/px for laptop (MUST be good working condition) im in Rochdale Lancs

  10. we once had 1 in our caravan, me anmd 3 whippets trying to catch the bugger for a week in skegness. not the easyest thing to catch in a caravan i had no idea there were so many hiding places.
  11. John if it's any use to you theres a pedigree whippet racing club at Rochdale, you'll be able to give your dog some training runs there and race it when older if your interested. PM me if you want more details. PS: a mate of mine makes lure machines.
  12. with the 12v jump starter (from maplins) you not only get the 17am/hr batter but you get a mains charger and a car charger you just need to fit some small crocodile clips
  13. Hi mate if you want a fox/deer or regulare hare killer then NO a whippet isn't the first choice. BUT if you want a ferreting/lamping dog then a whippet is ideal, mine are happy to stand about for hours on end in the snow ect in winter waiting for bolters they dont mind getting pissed wet through on a night lamping . i've worked/coursed whippets over various ground and they suffer no more or less injuries than any lurcher i'd run over the same ground. just for the record so as no one thinks my knoledge only extends to whippets I had lurchers (various mixes) for 12 years till ch
  14. Well said mate having worked (day/night), Live coursed (under NWCC rules,) raced KC registered whippets for 18 years they certainly can take the work if owned by a propoer dogman.

I worked one many MANY years ago. it came off Belle Vue after being warned off as a fighter had no stamina at all but after months of walking/running/conditioning it made up into a handy little bitch but she could never be trusted 100% as she was not opposed to picking up the odd JRT if the mood took her that way.

  21. as stated by several already in the right hands a whippet from any lines (show/race/working) will work as well as any other line. i'm not a lover of the bigger/stronger whippets being seen these days.
  22. i'm from near Manchester but lamp for 4 weeks every August towards the bottom end of Cornwall (with Permission) with pedigree whippets
  23. should make up ionto good working dogs, ive seen the sire and hes a very powerfull dog.
