  1. I wouldn’t use if the entrance is wider then 95cm, you could catch a otter then the sh1t would hit the fan, same as trapping without a license. Four guys got caught in Derbyshire trapping without license. Big fines and vehicles and equipment seized.
  2. That’s why the DEFRA brought the new rule in about killing them at the site of capture to stop people spreading them about. I think it’s a bit too late though, signals are in most bodies of water in the uk, reaching as far up as Scottish highlands.
  3. Go on to Amazon type in crayfish trap, look for the fish kit one?
  4. I haven’t noticed any difference in taste from river or Stillwater. I give them a wash in cold water,I also don’t purge I just snap the middle tail fin and pull the intestine out.

  7. You get a big pan and put potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage and crayfish, boil it till it’s cooked then put newspapers over a table and empty the pan contents on to table and dig in.
  8. They was brought to the uk in the 70’s for the food trade, a few escaped and went mad ?
  9. They get to about 11cm worth eating at any size if you do a crayfish boil ?
  10. From what I’ve seen USA as plenty of crayfish, not sure what state you are in but most states in US have them.
  11. The river had natives in it, then the signals moved in, the natives didn’t last long after that.
  12. Most waterways will have them now, they are even in lochs in the Scottish highlands.
  13. Yes mate very good eating. The problem is getting a license from EA they won’t issue any north of Birmingham due to small pockets of native crayfish.
  14. Went to a new stretch of river I got in December,to have a look for signal Crayfish. Put 10 traps in baited with mackerel,checked this morning and had 27 including this big one, plus a couple more big ones, picture doesn’t do it justice. My foot is size 7.

  16. He gave me some when me and woodga paid him a visit,amongst other things. Certainly is a knowledgeable chap. Have you got his mink snaring video/dvd?

  18. There is not much about him on google, there is the odd thing about his pictures coming up for auction but that’s it. Not sure about the two bulls pulling a stag.
  19. I finally managed to get hold of a painting by William Hobson called Confrontation,I first brought it in the 90’s, I foolishly sold and have looking for it for years. Only 1000 was done.
