    hi wallop,i'm in the same boat as you regarding my first lurcher and no-one to show me the ropes,alot of the lads on here will give you good advice,i know of someone who uses the smartlite and he has no complaints,myself i have a 170 striker,12v 7.5amp battery and i bought a belt pouch for the battery all for 110 euros(£90).it suits me,atb and happy hunting,what breeding is in your lurcher,i have a 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy,her training is doing well,she is 5 1/2 mths,cheers......john I just think the smartlite may be a handy tool with the shoulder strap, they say it has the battery same l

    Hi All I have a pup ready to start this season and need to get a lamping kit.... This is my first lurcher and would like any advise on what to get and how to start her off.... I don't have any lamping mates so have to teach her myself. I have been looking on the Clulite site and wondered why no one seems to use the hand held heavy duty Smartlites??? Are they too heavy??? They seem to have about the same power as the Laser. Any advise on starting the pup or lamping kits would be much appriciated Thanks in advance ATB

    and at about 4/5 months I know they are not everyones cup of tea on here but I'm after a daytime moocher and that's what I hope I get. retrieve is good with the dummy now, just waiting for her to catch her first bunny. cheers

    Hi all, I have a Beddy/Whippet 50/50, and she's my first lurcher. She is now 7 1/2 months and stands at 18.5tts, she is well breed worker to worker. I have worked on recall and she has got that very well. For a good few months now she has worked hard with a ball on retrieving allthough I still think she needs work on her strike and could get better at that. Last week I started her on a 1lb rabbit skin dummy. I'm proud of her as she took to it like a duck to water and will retrieve it to hand allthough with the tooth marks in it I think she will be a little hard mouthed. I really want her a

    Hi I have a 50/50 cross the dam is 17tts and the Sire is 19.5tts she is a bitch and at 7 months she is 18.5tts. I can't see her putting on anymore height if I'm honest. At seven months she is still yet to catch a rabbit but she has got close a couple of times. She has got closer on pheasants and will leap into the air after them which I love to see. I just use her for daytime mooching and I'm pleased with her progress to dqate. To be honest though I think shes a little on the lite side for Fox or deer and not got the pace for hare.     Ok so let me just make asolutely sure lol. My bitch is 6 months (my first Lurcher) Beddy / whippet 17.5" tts She is showing interest in daytime rabbits but hasn't caught one yet.... Letting her mooch about for daytime rabbits is ok?? She hasn't opened up.... I'm doing a lot of recall work with her and general obedience and she is coming on well (compared to some terriers I have had. I only want a daytime dog and not bothered about lamping Sorry to be a pain
