  1. different...i must say....looks a bit quirky..... i agree with GEOFF C probably not enough beam?? was shooting once and a bloke had a remote control head torch......he kept the remote taped onto his stock it beamed about 40-50m......better than butchering your stock!!! think it was a PETZL head torch...........bloody useful tho!!! used to sell them at GREYS OF ALNWICK ( FISHING SHOP) havn't seen them for while tho!
  2. i know its easy to say....................but....time and paitence and them some more time and even more paitience. we had a similar situation when we where rifle shooting(rimfire) and we just put longer sessions in and it eventually paid off but if the rabbits are easily spooked dont supose theres much else to do...........perhaps STILLAIR 1 has raised an interesting point??!! hope whatever you do mate pays off and good luck..
  3. Tularemia is one of the most infective bacteria known; fewer than ten organisms can cause disease leading to severe illness in humans. The course of disease involves spread of the organism to multiple organ systems, including the lungs, liver, spleen, and lymphatic system. The course of disease is similar regardless of the route of exposure. Mortality in untreated (pre-antibiotic-era) patients has been as high as 50% in the pneumoniac and typhoidal forms of the disease, and even with antibiotics the fatality rate is as high as 2%. The exact cause of death is unclear, but it is thought be a com
  4. COULD BE TULAREMIA: Tularemia or Rabbit fever is a decreasing but serious disease carried through the blood and the air that attacks the internal organs. Humans are often infected by a tick bite or through handling an infected animal. Ingesting infected water, soil, or food can also cause infection. Tularemia can be acquired by inhalation; hunters are at a higher risk for this disease because of the potential of inhaling the bacteria during the skinning process. Always carefully inspect the liver of your rabbit for white, yellow or any other spotting which can indicate Tularemia. If you ev
  5. well said everybody.................always just one or two nobs that screw it up for the sport. one small incident does more damage to airgunning then we would even dare consider. licensing will probably happen.......but the real answer is tougher sentencing and banning bb guns as they have no purpose for hunting and the only thing the little dicks seem to want to shoot is each other or worse passers by...........maybe they should be added to the general licence!!!!!! i wish that just once the media would release a story that championed airgunning instead of branding us all and gun
  6. got an 8 year old bitch , still as keen and agile as she was at 12 months. who cares about pedigree and papers.......its the dog that matters ( when it comes to jr's) great with the kids and around the house. very intelligent dogs.......which can lead them to being a bit stubborn at times, but, put the time in and you will have a good dog................. theres no such thing as a bad dog...................but plenty of bad owners. good luck mate

  11. AIR GUNNER MAY 2008 I QUOTE using a hw100 at 11.5 ft lbs for .22 and 10.8 ft lbs for .177 at 45 yards the .177 hits the target at 6.4ft lbs at 45 yards the .22 hits the target at 7.3 ft lbs .177 at 10 yards retains 89% energy .177 at yards retains 40% energy .22 at 10 yards retains 92% energy .22 at yards retains 50% energy it does say that the .177 has a faster pellet speed and a flatter trajectory my original post may have been slightly mis-leading with regards to velocity......appologies i just wanted peoples opinions on which they think is
  12. yes ............. it has photographs of the penetration
  13. i suggest what i shoot for ........... experience wasn't mentioned........thanks anyway
  14. just been reading in air gun mag....about calibre!!! it shows greater penetration into plastacine ( dont know if this is an ideal control material) with .177 but the balastic data shows that .22 has greater velocity, retains more power, travels faster etc, etc. is this because of the flater trajectory of the .177? judging by the users of this forum...they seem to favour .22 (as do i) is this due to the beleif that bigger is better??? i shoot mainly for rabbits, squirrels and the usual general licence vermin. i was wondering if any body has had greater results with .22 or
