hello mate............i live and work in the lakes and up until last year, had a 65acre farm in the national park. some of the land was rough pasture ( 32 acres) ,woodland (17acres), rough fell (16 acres). although there where few rabbits, there was squirrels, foxes, wood pigeons, corvids of all type, roe and red deer. sounds idyllic dosn't it?????? woodland was bordered by a public footpath, rough pasture was crossed by footpaths and the rough fell was open access ( don't set me off!?!?!?!). this is the problem.............feckin ramblers...........wasn't safe to shoot anywhere...

got a pair of EXPENSIVE boots ( meindl)..........were the dogs ......so i thought!!!!!!!!!!! then i got a new pair of work boots..........GRISPORT £54............light,waterproof,hard wearing, steel toe caps and very comfortable.............unbeleivable better than my "hunting boots".............highly reccomended!!!!!

alright devvo...............if you know where the red kites soar........try putting down some pieces of chicken (quite big , about half a breast at a time) and they will swoop down and pick them up........they don't land to collect the food.................its an awesome site to see..........we have done it a few times up here................good luck. oh!! do you still have the super 10 for sale????? cheers mate

prob to late now mate...............hope you had a good day!!!!?? anyway.........we have loads of fish from pools using shrimp..........fastened to shrimp needles with bait elastic............dyed red with food couloring..........and weighted accordingly..............as rioulike says try worm aswell............good in fast coulored water ( especially when rivers in flood) cheers fella sean

i know what you mean' it makes the sport so much nicer seeing the wildlife and the countryside i just love to go for a walk with my gun its not just about what i shoot or kill its just a great way to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and quite couldn't agree more......................especially at this time of year with everything growing, hatching etc. we went out on monday night and spent a good 1/2 hour watching hares boxing and chasing about.......it was every bit as good as the shooting. better than the bloody telly!!!!!!!!!!! all the best mate sean

just been reading that myself............................sounds ok!!!! dont know if theres anything else you can use..............so i will wait for more posts to see what its like in the field................but.....i suppose good fieldcraft is as good as anything!!! cheers sean

same here in the lakes.......................we always see the crows swooping at them when they get close to the roosts...........kestrels,sparrow hawks, perrigrines and of course the basenthwaite ospreys and the haweswater golden eagles..............................superb!!!!!!!!!!!!

has anyone ever seen tv programme........worst jobs in history...........presented by that short arse tony robinson ( baldrick)..................one of the jobs was a tanner.......in the 18th and 19th century they used to soak hides in water and dog shit...........plenty of it about...........same programme also covered the highly acclaimed position of royal arse wiper!!!!!!!!!
