  1. Been out shooting bunnies on a new golf course for four weeks now and surprisingly the numbers shot are going up. 4weeks ago 40 in four hours 2weeks ago 60 in four hours sat past ran out of bullets 114 in five hours. Then found the problem accross the road in a massive student complex. Drove around the very large complex and was dissmayed to see casual rabbits in their hundreds wandering aimlessly and totaly ignoring our presence. got out of the jeep and walked amongst them and they could not care less. Seems as though the large student poulation are rather proud of their bunnie horde
  2. The way you are desrcibing the land layout I am hoping that there is some sort of embankment or uprise at the rear of your intended line of fire without a wooded area in front where there could be walkers. Recipe for disaster mate. Plan your shoot during the day when you can see the safe lines and backdrops then take them out at night. During the day you need 100% view all the way not only to the target but to where the bullet would go if you missed or cleared.
  3. Don't forget a 20g if your a good shot its a cracking all rounder.

  6. Just an example mate. Tikka T3 app £800 + S&B 8x56 app £500 Predator or T8 or ase. app £250 Total £1550 not a lot over budget but top quality that will last a lifetime. Just an example as there is just so much for you to choose from but I think most would agree "don't scrimp on the scope".
  7. Thanks mate but I will have to start all over again as she was a specialist on seagulls and scuts. She had to work for a living. Already got a male for field work who is gonna be a bit lonely for a while.
  8. This has been done to death but lets have a quick look at SPECIFICALLY what you asked, the 22-250 hits hardest but is also the noisiest and the most expensive ammo! 222 is the quietest (just less than .223) and the hardest to find ammo for. 223 sits in the middle with a vast range of easy to find ammo, generally as sensibly priced as they get, also some VERY cheap factory rounds if you look in the right place. Hit a fox in the right place with ANY of them and you have a dead fox, so what is the best for fox??? Deker has got it spot on.
  9. Thanks mate already had a go at the neighbour, plod involved as I got a little carried away. At least she gutted the ferret.
  10. Best harris we ever had even though she was always grumpy.Still she was a killing machine. Out yesterday on her bow perch getting some sun and unbeknown to us the next door neighbors Ferret was on the loose. It was over in a flash. I found her with what was left of the ferret still in her talon but it had got her first and sadly she had bled out. She was only out for about 15mins. Still in shock.
  11. OK, I know little or nothing about the gun or scope, but looks like a cross betwewen some of the old Parker Hale and Remingtons! Whats the eye relief on that scope, looks to be mounted a long way back!! In the weeks to come a bit of a longer term report would be interesting... Its a Serbian rifle that eventualy Remmington bought in and stamped their name on. The Serbs dont care about the name as long as they sell shed loads of guns. The scope is made by a subsiduary company of Bushnell and origionally it was intended for the BMP50. Even at full mag it is pin sharp and al
  12. Do your self a favour mate and do not strip down the mag. It's a finicky thing to put back together and never the same. Soak them in white spirit for a while and give them a good shake. Thats all they need. Been Bunny bashing with a Ruger 10/22 now for three years and never been stripped down. Never missed a beat. Hoppes bore snake is all it gets after every outing.
  13. Just went ahead and bought it and just thought I would let you guys see it on the gun. Its a Millett LRS 6-24x56 with a 35mm tube sitting on a Zastava M70 .243
  14. Thanks guys it was on the barrel all the time ( Yoeman s/s ). Thick as mince me, I was looking for a number Duh! It will do me as a field gun as everyone says its a reliable piece of kit although not very pretty.
