  1. Hello guys, Back for the weekend from Bristol ,finished my 2nd year of University, has been a hard few weeks but I got there in the end. I have to go back on monday for 2 weeks of excavation on a proper site, one of the places I dug last year, should be a good laugh, and also I have learned alot in a year so should be able to get really stuck in. So I got home yesterday about 5 o clock, grabbed a snack and the HW95K which I actually took to Bristol with me this time as I know a guy who hunts there at University, knows someone who has some land but apparently hes a terrible hunter so
  2. Wow.. Must run in the blood! Jack
  3. Yes mate in some circumstances they are very useful and essential for good hunting in my opinion. Or at least they will open your world up a bit more in opposition to scaring away everything after one shot. It depends on how loud your gun is, and where the voume is coming from. In a well made Air Arms or Weihrauch springer the internals are better engineered and although powerful and efficient they have less of a 'crack' or 'twang' coming through the stock. I own a HW95K and it comes with a large Weihrauch silencer. Without it, it is a very very loud gun coming from the muzzel. Silencer on
  4. Awesome gun, have fired and used myself. May be worth getting a spring to take the edge off th weight while walking around. My mate uses AA fields / RWS Superfields. I would zero at 30m max and working out any drop from there!
  5. Awesome bag and writeup! Cheers buddy
  6. Hey mate, Good shooting, What do you mean by anti-viral stuff? I was under the impression nor dog or man could becoming affected by mixi? Jack
  7. What calibre mate? Good shooting.
  8. Nice one mate, thats massive! Is he actually dead in this photo lol?! Seems to be posing ? Jack
  9. Good writeup man, keep it up! Your gun in .177 or .22? Jack
  10. So did it not come with the silencer its got? I understand all the HWrange if they are carbine usually came with a Weihrauch silencer thats really good. Maybe thats a newer thing? If its got a new spring in it, maybe someone did a shit job or its a bad spring.. Does it shoot ok? Maybe do what Venom said and shell out a little bit on new spring or service, make sure everythings sat tight on the stock and see if the silencer is rattling? It should be a fairly quiet gun, especially with time as you fire it and it smoothens up. Let us know how you get on. ATB Jack
  11. Enjoyed reading that man. Did you have a recalculation session of mildots etc when you picked up the .22? I understand your a .177 lover? When I buy myself a PCP it will definatley be .177. The flatter trajectory is such a great plus it seems. Jack

  16. Like I said, despite it not being a bragging shot in distance, the hunt leading upto its demise was what made me feel chuffed to come away a bunny on an early afternoon shoot in really intense wind. Unless I go out tomorrow before I head back to Bristol thats me out the game for a few weeks! Jack
  17. I crawled until I was in line with the dead bunny and despite not spotting me, the second hopped into his hedge, likely due to the buzzards screaming overhead.
  18. Feeling chuffed that I had bagged one again and seem to be ending this dry spell, I got up, reloaded and climbed through the fence. As I slowly walked along the hedgerow I saw another on the same line, he wouldnt have heard the shot at the 60 meters or so he was away with the wind, Once your about 30 meters away from my gun being fired you cant really here it anyway these days (as mentioned in previous topic). I knew it would be tough to get into range on this bunny with no proper cover so I took this photo which although simple is pure class, the fallen beast on the right, with the ot
  19. I popped up my rear lens cover (When walking about and leave the front one open, I'm only scared a zip or something may scratch the reticle end) and left my magnification on 6x and A0 on 25 meters which is what I walk around with it on as a sort of default. Wasn't much of a bragging shot at 23 meters but the wind was coming hard from the left. I considered that maybe the wind would only push my pellet off target for the meter or so that the hedge was open, and once on its way on the sheltered side of the hedge it would fly straight, however the grass blowing round the rabbit suggested it w
  20. I then saw an opening in the hedge on my right, which looks onto another field, and rabbits use that field aswell, although not as often. The wind was coming hard from my left, so I thought, Hmm maybe I should pop my head round that side see if theres anything, and I thought 'Nah.. even if something was there its very awkward to shoot round, wouldnt have a chance'. SO I walked a few steps more and changed my mind based o nthe fact the otherside of the hedge would be more sheltered from the wind. I walked up to the barbed wire fence, poking my head over looking left and there sat a fairly l
  21. Hi again all, Got out for an hour and a half just now. Very windy again so wasnt ideal shooting conditions, nor was there much quarry about, probably sticking in the shelter of the hedge rows. I did a stalk around the place and hadnt seen anything. Started to walk this hedgeline slowly. This slope I carved my teeth on in the sport when I first started shooting here as t was a really active warren and I sued to shoot from the bottom. My actual aim here was to get to the bottom and approach the opposite slopes that are my killing ground at the moment. As always, until I fi
