    The only unusual mole I have caught was a pink one !, well the rear half was pink because it was bare skin with a few other bald patches,it was actually caught in my own garden in a talpex trap I was trying out and was caught within five minutes of the trap being laid (bloody good traps these I thought) it was obviousley still warm and looked and felt strange.I thought it was probably mange but the skin was soft and smooth as opposed to scabby, any other ideas on what it could have been? As a possible twist to the mange theory afew months later one of my spaniels that had not been off site f

    We know them as "mules" I think the correct name is actually a gynandromorph,they are a hen that has recieved organ damage and start to take on some charchteristics of cock birds.They are unable to breed but live,fly like any other pheasant.

    The course was £125.00 plus VAT inc lunch also included was a copy of Steves book (not sure if the book is always included).Most of the courses are around this price,the way to look at it I think is that you will earn that money back after the first few jobs with the knowledge you have gained. The course was booked through Killgerm or you could perhaps PM Rolfe on this site.

    Thanks to Steve (Countryman Pest Control) and the Killgerm team Robin & Paul for the enjoyable and informative course today on trapping.I already new a bit but now i know a whole lot more,this is a excellent course for anyone wanting to gain a basic knowledge of vermin trapping and snaring.I don't think anyone would come away without learning something,the practical trapping part in the afternoon takes place in a ideal location to demonstrate the various techniques being taught. I think the next course takes place in November and think it is well worth a look.

    I have used both priest and airgun/pistol for despatch but are happier when using the airpistol,i read on another forum it was a .22 rimfire with shot cartridges but i,m not sure if it was! I liked the idea of a fenn in box obviously far cheaper to run on a large scale than a load of Kanias but a little more thought needed on the principle of how a fenn works as previously stated,maybe another shelf at the correct hieght above the trap with a appropriate size hole cut in it,perhaps two & half inch diameter??? I liked Pauls passion for his work and his manner made me chuckle at times but

    I would also like to say it was a pleasure to be able to watch and listen to Glenn & Steve two men obviously at the top of there game,it certainly came across that Glenn has dedicated a lot of time to his chosen profession (not sport or past time i would like to add) reeling off dates each new device was invented or tweaked to perfection.I feel almost honored to have had the chance to listen to Glenns unique teachings a chance i may never get again and a opportunity others may not get,I'm sure the practical courses would have been even better attended had the NPTA chosen to promote them ,

    Guy Smith used to live across the valley from me on the Black hill near Clun ,Shropshire,I never new the man but know he wrote other good books including hill shooting and upland gamekeeping,ferreting and trapping for amateur gamekeepers and gamekeeping and shooting for amateurs.

    Hi Rolfe (new to this forum) what do you think is the ideal size for a rabbit cage trap,i have seen them marketed in various sizes ranging from 6x6 to 12x12 inches square.I thought aboout making some about 9x9x30" long with 1"x3" mesh.AS THEY SAY "is size important" all input appreciated.
