A nest raider yesterday became the first person in Britain to be jailed for trapping and selling wild birds caught in this country. DNA fingerprinting techniques, similar to that used for convicting murderers and rapists, were used to refute Derek Canning's claim that he had bred rare peregrines from captive parents and was breaking no law. Jasper, How many times has he asked the same question,and how many times have I answered it. We keep going in circles,and I have to admit I am sick of it. I am going through the files of evidence from the solicitor and I will have more evidence to report very soon on Neil Hunter. I have noted the childish remarks that Neil Hunter's friends continue to put on this thread and I look forward to Neil Hunter answering yes or no to my question. As a point of interest, I would point out that you cannot steal wild peregrine falcons, as no one owns them however in relation to my guilty or not under the regulation 3626 it is common knowledge even with Hunter and his friends that the DNA evidence that was used in my case was flawed. The answer is no.Neil Hunter was not arrested regarding remarks alledgedly made on a secure area of a forum that was somehow accessed by Derek Canning.Neil Hunter was contacted and informed that a complaint had been made,however it was not a police matter. Mr Canning will be able to confirm this the next time he calls at his local station,if he hasn't done so already. I have been following this thread with interest..as I am sure have many others..I do not know either Derek Canning or Neil Hunter personally but via friends have heard of both..and I thought not to get involved but..some of the things said by annonymous others have in my opinion been cowardly and less than helpful..thrown fuel on the inferno.. Trying to look at it from both perspectives..on the face of it there are two people who are both obviously very hurt and very angry because of what they allege the other has done to them.. Yeah, and I know who I believe, Mark Robb is to generous for his own good at times. He has learned the hard way hasn,t he. He wont fall victim to that anymore, believe me !!!!! All these people who slag him off, bad mouth him etc, and he allows folk to take expensive falcons off his premises with no monies exchanged, been generous and taking pity on folk, allowing them time to pay later and they dont. You couldn't walk into Tesco, get a £1000.00 worth of food, electricals etc and tell them you'll pay later. That doesn,t happen in that walk of life does it ??? No ! But take advantage

I for one hope the "facts" come out sooner ,rather than later.There were 3 people present when I made the deal with Mark Robb which entitled me to a brown tiercel peregrine,me,my brother and Mark Robb.There were only 2 people present when I took possession of the other falcons from Mark Robb,and they were myself and Mark Robb.Anyone else claiming knowledge can only be taking the word of Mark Robb. Derek Canning states somewhere in this thread that the charges relevant to the peregrine purchased by me ,from him,were dropped at Hexham Magistrates Court. Bearing in mind I was never called to give evidence during his trial, how could I have committed perjury and how did I send him to jail if the charges were dropped. This is the kind of tripe I have come up against for the last 15 years. It may be that the thread gets kept open,but it is getting a bit tiresome. Just to say I came here to defend myself. I have answered all allegations as truthfully as I can. There may be some minor inaccuracies due to the time span involved,but the bones of it is 100% truthfull and accurate. Mark Robb has nothing to say at this time for personal reasons, that is all I will say at this time. End of story. Derek Canning is NOT his goffer. Mark Robb is big enough to stand on his own two feet !!! Furthermore Mark Robb is too busy at this time of year keeping a breeding project running than to spend his time on here. What about certain individuals who take expensive captive bred birds from breeders and refuse to pay for them ! And still keep them too !!!! I wonder who they are !! Any suggestions ?? Interesting. I am only new to this place and only joined to defend myself. This man is a convicted peregrine thief,of that there is no doubt. He has served his time.We are now 15 years down the line and still it carries on. He produced a receipt allegedly from me thanking him for the "gift" of the peregrine. It was dismissed at the civil case as it was in Cannings handwriting and he had spelt my address incorrectly.He has told so many lies over the years ,he actually now believes them himself. I don't mind if the thread continues as he will just post it elsewhere in anycase,although I think it is obvious

I have to say I had a call this morning telling me about this thread. The Derek Canning situation has dragged on for 15 years. I purchased a peregrine tiercel from Mr Canning in 1993 for the sum of £300.He was advertising in the classified section of Cage and Aviery Birds. On returning home I removed the bird from the box and discovered it to be cable tied. I contacted Mr Canning and he told me he had applied for an "individual exemption" and it would be in the post shortly.
