ive always kept them when ever they,ve popped up,most of my catch goes to the ferts but tried one myself years back and guess what, it tasted just like rabbit.lol dont know what i expected
-
they used to call them vicars round here and would always let them go, for as you said fear of getting bad luck.
-
i go past manchester airport regularly and theres quite a few around there, but on the farms ive got,and some of them are crawling with rabbits ive not seen one for a couple of years
-
it,s been a couple of seasons since ive had a black rabbit in my nets when ive been out with the ferts.does anyone else pick them up regularly or occasionally or not at all.

-
only feed my ferts what i myself have ferreted shot or the dog has picked up and have frozen for a week. myxi just has never been an issue with me i know they can look bad but thats all
-
like sue said each to there own.and if it doesn,t sit right with you dont feed them to your ferts.but if youv,e fed them to your ferts when youv,e been low on food and theres been no side effects i dont see the problem feeding them to the ferts again rather than binning them
-
[fed mixy rabbits to my ferts for as long as i can remember, cant see the problem unless there skin and bone and then whats the point anyway.but as stubby said always freeze them.i do that to all my quarry be it magpie or rabbit etc. is just another way of lessening the chances of disease.

i feed my hobs flounders which i catch when im out on the alt estuary, all i do is gut them. my hobs absolutely love them makes a change and im sure it gives them extra vitamins which they wouldn,t normally get .
