  1. try bathing the feet in warm salty water after they have been out. does the world of good.
  2. my 12 month old lurcher came across a munty on a track way, head on. after a stand of for about 20, 30 seconds the munty walked forward and my dog barked at it and came running back to me.....couldn't believe my eyes!!
  3. Thanks bud - it was a tragedy for sure - and I never thought could replace her hence my quiet spell - Pleased to say the interest has been rekindled, and i cant wait to bring the new pup on. what pup have you got now mate?
  4. wow... they are some of the best pictures ive ever seen!!! i bet the pups are crackers. well done mate.
  5. I have seen one in the flesh and they are a credit to him.Definately would be my choice of lurcher for allround work.atb dell can you remember which one mate??
  6. a friend of mine called stat has bred his own lurchers for many years and they offen throw the same type of lurchers...which are very handy tools...and i know it dosn't mean too much but plumber mentions him and his dogs in one of his books.
  7. what a 1st class c**t, if you get a dog that yaps keep it work it feed it clean it put loads of hard work into it for what nothing also like to say dont worry fella i think the same of you tosser no it all. whats the point of keeping a dog that yaps like i said if the dog aint up to standerd you either got yourself to blame or it might just be in the dog. so you and all the other computer worriers on here keep feeding them yappers. i'd also like to say i seen the guy the other day when i was on my way home from work told him throw it infront off my van put the thing out of its missery
  8. what a complete fooking nob head. you threw a dog out of your van because it was barking.......you must be a total limp dick.
  9. what has white shit gotta do with stray dogs mating lurchers....
  10. happens all the time mate...especially if the hare as beem run before and made good its escape this way before.....they always seem to do it again...
  11. cracking video that mate. looks a nice dog. all the best with the pups.
  12. why is 350 overpriced.......its only about a weeks wage to working man. if all lurcher pups were this price then people would keep them longer and the dogs home wouldn't be as full as thet are........all you tight gets wanna try buy a good springer or lab and see hoe much you pay.....and these type of dogs are limited to there uses....unlike a good lurcher.....
  13. i really like dogs with saluki in them. stamina really plays a big part in my eyes in catching game. where i live and hunt its hard to get close to some stuff and 100 yard slips are common. on large slips on pre-ban quarry like deer and foxes, dogs with too much bull or too much greyhound strugle to get to terms with them.
  14. my mate had a good off this breeding. got it from a guy who called himself cresent lurchers. dont know if he is still about as it was about 10 years ago.
  15. i got one of my dogs of him 7 years ago. paid 125 quid at 8 weeks old, which is cheeper than most on here and is the best dog i have ever owned.
  16. i bred a litter last year and the pups are coming up to 15 months old. They are out of a 1/4 bull so are only a 1/8 but they are showing great promise. sometimes a little bit of bull goes a long way, but to be honist i would rather they take after the father as then they will be a much handier dog.
  17. its not always to do with been over matched too soon. i had a dog once that i didnt slip on a rabbit till it was 12 months and she sometimes yapped. she was a wippet type and offen caught 8 out of 10 rabbits so it was hardly over matched. some dogs do...some dont....nothing you can do about it sometimes.
  18. hi all. due to unforseen circumstances i am looking to re home my 5 year old lurcher bitch. she is very clean in the house or kennel and can be walked anywear without a lead and comes back every time. she has been spayed so dog breeders need not apply. any genuine enquires then please feel free to call me as im away from the computer for a while. 07969758492. price; free to the right genuine person. thanks.
  19. Everone has there own styles of hunting but your best bet, if you want to course hares in the summer is this;...... First of all get yourself a suberu 4x4. Then get yourself some reebok classic trainers followed by some adidas 3 strip tracky bottoms.........then take a young dog, normally under 12 months and load it into the back of your car with about 6 other dogs and 3 more mates.........then find a big fat hare(these are usually the pregnant ones) and slip your dog at close range...if your dog struggles to catch it then as a tip, try slipping the other 5 dogs...........I also prefer to run
  20. there's a big difference between able to catch all quary and been the perfect all rounder.....it would be nearly impossible to be perfect it all areas of lurcher work, which it would have to be to be classed as the best allrounder.
  21. you would never get the ultimate all rounder.....but you might get a dog that does well in your chosen sport and also trys hard at other game. For example my saluki x, is a good all rounder....but not 100% perfect. pre ban he can take 3 n 4 hares a day, takes deer well and i took him foxing and ferreting.......but even though he tries 100%, i would be a fool to say he catchs as many rabbits as some wippet X's do and the same with specialists bred fox dogs. On the other hand my mates dog catchs fox after fox, and retrieves rabbits live to hand. But even though his dog has had many hares he w
