  1. there is a place near me which is the same with muntys....the first time i saw them her i was gob smacked as to how tame they are....one even stood its ground with a dog i used to have on a path and saw the dog off!! I regularly get within 50 yards of them and they just keep grazing..
  2. what,s for a dog won,t go by it if they going to get injured it will happen dog,s can get injured any place any time It's fact... They don't go lamping coz they don't wanna injure the dog.. Lamping dogs have a much shorter working life than daytime dogs. I do both with mine but it's a price I'm willing to pay. For example, before the ban I reached the final of the east of England chairmans cup, but the week before the final I went lamping. Dog injured himself and I pulled him out of the final! He is nearly nine now and has had many a hard night and would struggle to bend a daytime hare, whil
  3. Most of the lads I know don't use there day time dogs at night for the simple reason that's it's too risky, as in the risk of injury is far greater at night. I use my own dogs for both but I've paid the price many times.
  4. I was out with a mates 2 border terriers today. Good dogs but relentless and very hard.
  5. Basically if there is a badger living there then it's a badger set.... For example if you wa ferreting a large rabbit warren and you dug down to a badger you would be gilty in the eyes of the law for interfering with a badger set. If your bushings though your more likely to push a fox in a badger set than the other way round., so becareful if you work your dogs loose.
  6. His number is in earth dog running dog magazine mate
  7. My dogs are micro chipped and tattoo but that will not stop them getting stolen. It's not like the thief is gonna take it to the vets for it's 6 month check up is it. All it will do is if they do get eventually dumped or run off then they would come back to me then. But then again that's another story all together as I've heard of micro chipped dogs been destroyed by dog pounds.
  8. That's a lot of foxes!! The most I've had out of one place was 3. That's not a lot but the earth was tiny, only had 3 holes and covered an area about 3 meter square. That was 2 dogs and a vixen. That was right out in the middle of the fen.
  9. I THINK IT WAS HER MOTHER SILKY THAT WON IT MATE???[/font] Have you got any pictures of silky optimus?
  10. My mate has a bitch out of lucky which was a good hare killer, but she was also a very game bitch. She would find her own game and would take all quarry. I don't know is this was a trait from lucky or her dam?
  11. I'm live here too mate. Give me a shout if you fancy a mooch, cheers.
  12. post='1959209'] AND THAT IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT very smart dog, how's he bred optimus? GARY LEES SARGEANT TO GARY LEES SILKY COLONEL my dog is out of silky.... And he has been a cracker mate.
  13. I was told if you have finance on a vechical then they carnt touch it either as you don't own it.
  14. That's some impressive looking ferret runs you have there mate.
  15. My old dog had a bad time when he was about the same age...he got on a hare and every time he lost it and started coming back another one got up in front of him! Each run was only about 1 1/2 mins but he prob ran about 5/6 hares one after another!! In the end he jacked fair and square I had to carry him back to the van. Luckily though he had no lasting damage but that could be just luck... Who knows but it was a worrying few months.
  16. I always feed mine the night before and I've never had a problem..... Probaly wood if I didn't feed it though. And a 5 min run is a massive run for an 11 month old pup. Is the pup even fit? Has it run before? There is loads of ifs and buts, but it should not really be a problem. There is a difference between jacking and not been able to run anymore.
  17. I had a saluki/bull/greyhound that was great on hares. there is a picture of her in darcy's coursing book. so long as there are bred right they are pretty handy dogs. but like i say, they have to be bred right.
  18. Worst place; Boston Worst people; south normanton :weight_lift2:
  19. The PAC man. No one around at the moment who can touch him!
  20. My mate hand reared a fox cub and it even slept with his terrier as a cub and that terrier has worked and killed hundreds of foxes! It was more like a cat than a dog. Of I didn't see it with my own eyes I prob would not have believed it.
