  1. I feed rabbits to my dogs every week. How would you know if the rabbits infected though? Can you tell visually?
  2. I’ve had 3 coursing dogs, saluki saturated.. their obedience has been spot on.. just little and often.. but he’s too young yet to worry about much. Get a good bond and go from there.
  3. There only heard of because they match them. I’m not saying there not good dogs, because the ones I’ve seen have been good. But there’s a lot of dogs which are just as good that others won’t have heard off. I went out with bulldozer and I caught more hares with mine on that particular day. I don’t match my dogs though.
  4. I had a dog sired by Red.. that was probably the best hare dog I’ve had, and he was a very fast type too.
  5. Most of my permission is with 1 hours drive, but I’ve traveled much further… not so much lamping, but day time work.
  6. The problem is, people associate decent lurcher lads with these gypo scum…. It’s like associating the shooting fraternity with armed robbers, because they both use shotguns…. That’s about how similar we both are, but unfortunately people think the divide is much closer…
  7. Very nice mate… good luck with them
  8. Great pictures.. 8 miles is not a bad distance with the hills.
  9. I’ve fed my coursing dogs loads of hares, and I’ve never had them try eat a hare once it’s killed and caught it… same as when I drive home with rabbits and hares in the back.. they know not to touch them. Mind you, I train all my dogs to a pretty decent standard, so maybe that helps. I’ve seen some coursing lads, who’s dogs shit in the back of the van. They would probably eat an hare as there so untrained it’s like taking a wild animal out ???
  10. Large fields with dykes around then… f***ing hate the things… it’s great for lamping as it’s hard for the gear to run unsighted, but it’s deadly for dogs hitting a dyke side at full pelt. If you lamp regular near me, not many dogs live to old age unfortunately… not so bad with rabbits, but there’s more other stuff than rabbits and they run faster and further.
  11. Makes no difference, I think it’s an old wives tale. When whole prey is fed, either to a pet or wild animal, it will eat meat, the intestines (which will be mainly veg) and bone. All these may digest differently but it doesn’t make one bit of difference.
  12. It’s still quiet warm too. They could be living on top and in the cover. I went at the weekend and most of the warrens were empty, but when I went on the lamp there were plenty about.
  13. Now that is a good looking dog… good luck with him.
  14. You can add a waterproofing agent to the concrete, so the piss dosnt soak in too.
  15. I’ve done some pest control on a nature reserve. All had to be done at nighttime though and we wasn’t supposed to tell anyone. Foxes and geese were the main target species
  16. If it works I think it would be a great bit of kit. Especially as you always carry your phone on.. I understood the 5m concept straight away…. f**k knows what the others were thinking ?
  17. My last couple of nights having a shine around local to me. The hare was road kill, but I thought I’d add it to show how little my dog is in comparison ?
  18. You see it all the time on Facebook… the first and only question is ‘how much? ‘
  19. No, she came into season regular. I was recommended to use raspberry leaf as it’s supposed to help with birthing. I’m not sure how, but I know women take it to during pregnancy.
  20. Yea I have, but my bitch still had a bad labour. 2 died inside and I had to go to the vets to have an injection to get the dead ones out.
  21. Everything has gone up in the last 12 years, beer, petrol, cars….
