  1. That’s what I do.. probably carcass fed 5 days a week… and a decent dry complete biscuit the other 2 days.
  2. My bitch is beddy/whippet (19inch).. the sire that I’ll use is beddy/whippet x beardy/greyhound (23 inch)
  3. I agree, a beddy/whippet makes a perfect mouthing pet… I’ve got one, and there good fun, but as there on the small side, they don’t get into too much trouble, especially if there’s lots of deer etc.
  4. Fingers crossed I’m breeding come beddy whippet with a touch of beardy collie/greyhound this spring..
  5. Rabbits are getting a hammering with rhvd, mixy, and more people hunting them than ever before.
  6. Thanks… ended with 12, which is pretty good for round here.. could have got more but the day was cut short, ferret locator packed up… still plenty for a night on the lamp and breeding stock for next year.
  7. It made a change to ferret some open warrens this morning.. it’s normally dykes, woods and cover…
  8. It’s micro chipped to an address in Serbia…
  9. I’d question why you would breed from a bitch that wasn’t fast enough… there’s plenty of fast hare killing dogs/bitches on the ground without trying to recreate the wheel
  10. Injury prone could be any number of reasons… mainly running when not fit.. some lads try to work the dog fit, from nothing.. I prefer to get them fit, then work them once fit. Obviously coursing fit only comes from coursing but a good base fitness definitely helps reduce injuries… most injuries I’ve seen are from running plough, especially if it’s wind dried… or miss timing a jump when hitting a dyke.. although it rarely happens single handed, I think it happens more when there run doubled up. They can run faster, wanting to be first to the hare… once they have had a few bends they normally se
  11. It’s a good sign that rabbit are breeding, as the more litters they have the more rabbits will be about.. but that particular rabbit didn’t run again.. she’s now dog food.
  12. It’s at an all time low in Lincolnshire . Although I caught a pregnant one yesterday which is a good sign I suppose
  13. This is in the slop, she getting straight lined by a roe ?
  14. I’m laughing… the post was really to show the size of the dog compared to a hare… and next thing you know, I’m comparing her to a coursing dog ?
  15. Definitely no slop… the clover was 6 inch high, and green as grass
  16. It was in a clover field. Not many hedges on my perms in lincs
  17. There nice little dogs to own, but not really big enough to be an all round lurcher. Mine is very obedient and hunts very well, but lacks speed due to her small size. Although she will go to ground on hares ?
  18. 1st cross beddy/whippet… this hare dragged her a good few yards.. retrieved on the lamp.
  19. He does great videos… he’s obviously very good with animals I’d say. But I wouldn’t fancy trying to pick up a mink
  20. Where abouts are you jigsaw? It’s similar where I live in Lincolnshire… loads of hare and deer, but I thought I’d step away from that game and do more rabbits. I’ve got a rabbit dog now, but she has to work hard for what few rabbits we get.
  21. That’s a massive decline… and I’ve definitely noticed it in Lincolnshire.
