  1. She looks a nice lurcher, is she your first one? What’s the breeding behind her?
  2. Hello, Anyone in Lincolnshire with a good working Hob I could use please?
  3. I think that dogs can learn when to mark and when not too. When I’ve got the ferrets my dogs are pretty useful markers..but when I’m not ferreting I don’t really want them marking a hole until I arrive. When I’m bushing my dogs will offen ignore holes, as they know they’re hunting up for stuff on top.
  4. Some dogs do this unfortunately… the main downside to this is lamping at night when you’re trying to be quiet. Tucked in a dyke bottom trying to squeak a fox and the dog is panting away.
  5. It’s illegal over here too… but what I’m saying is, if you’re not a nob and go driving the land mob handed, you can get away with most stuff here in the uk.
  6. People think we’re so hard done by in the uk… but I think we have it easy… I know lads who’ve been caught coursing in France and they were lucky to escape in one piece.
  7. Hare is the hardest in my opinion… I’ve had coursing dogs catch rabbits regularly, but I haven’t had rabbiting dogs catch hare’s regularly.
  8. I bet that can find some gear can’t it?
  9. Yes mate.. it normally refers to a stumpy type, short length of back..
  10. Oh right, I didn’t realise that.. so I’ll have to hopefully see if the dealer will offer me a part exchange, even though I’m not buying the new rifle off him, there and then. If the variation takes a while to come through, I could be weeks or months without a rifle, as I would have to sell or dispose my existing rifle.. then apply for a one4one variation. Thanks for the information, I’ll look into that.
  11. No, still got the old one.. hopefully will part ex it at the dealer when I get my new one.
  12. What make HMR are you lads using or recommending.. I’ve had a CZ American but it’s worn out now and I fancy a change.. I like the look of the browning T bolt, especially the laminate with S/S barrel.
  13. There’s 4 options.. 1; new application 2; variation (but I’ve filled this in and nothing about a one4one) 3; change of address 4; transfer/notice of sale
  14. I’m trying to do a one4one variation but I can’t find a on-line form to fill in.. any advice appreciated… Lincolnshire police. I’m on the portal but I can’t find a form for a straight swap same calibre variation.
  15. If it’s the same as the bill in England regarding wild animals with dogs, it’s the chasing that’s illegal. Even if your dog retrieves… as lots of people get done for hare coursing, even if there dog chases but dosnt catch the hare… so I very much Doubt that if you have a soft mouthed retriever, you’ll still be f****d if you get caught.
  16. That’s shooting though… the same as 100 plus pidgeons over decoys or a 250 bird day of the pheasants..
  17. Id say there wanted for breeding.. £25/£50 each… 8/10 kits per Jill… people will do owt for a quick buck
  18. Hare coursing dogs have the shortest careers.. prime years are 2, 3 and 4. lamping dogs tend to be more prone to injuries, so a dog that’s lamped 2/3 times a week, would be doing well if it’s still working after 7/8 years old. My old dog was still catching at 10, but nothing like his younger years..
  19. I’ve a couple I’ve met when I was with the local coursing club, (before the ban) and kept in touch with.. my main pal, we grew up near each other so that’s how we met..I love a solo mouch about but I prefer most stuff with a pal… proving your on the same wavelength ??
  20. Don’t believe that… eBay would refund straight away, no risk what so ever to the buyer… so I can’t see anyone showing someone a picture or even sending one.. a freezer on eBay would be collection only… got to be one of those story’s that’s been told that many times it’s now believed to be true.
  21. Nice dogs… if your not Gred, then I apologise..
  22. Greb, when you say, you’ve kept lurchers for 15 years…. My old lurcher lived to 15, so could literally have had one lurcher ?
  23. Suppose it depends, as like I say, the lad who keeps this , 99% don’t bolt. He’s got bull greyhounds, but they’re taller and longer legged.. he prefers the shorter coupled dog for his terrier work. I’ve seen it once and it impressed me..
