  1. The led is great for fox eyes and deer eyes, but I get no reflection at all with rabbits.. much prefer the halogen for all round lamping. It’s a shame though as the light weight of the led, (batteries) is brilliant
  2. You say working whippet... how many seasons of work has it had?
  3. Cracking looking pups. When you say, ‘line bred’ I take it the dam and sire are related then?
  4. Not really, but her mouth was slightly open all the time instead of normaly closed..
  5. Sorry to here this boys.. I had to PTS my Jill kit this morning that I’ve only had 2 weeks.. back end went. Very strange and sad too.
  6. Good luck with the pups. Is the sire a beagle x spaniel?
  7. The dam has some neck and shoulders on here.. lovely looking bitch
  8. Dog breeding can be mega money now.. weather it’s right or wrong. A lady I know has just started breeding fence bull dogs this year.. 3 bitches, all live one the house and are pets.. ones had 10 pups, sold this week. £3K for boys, £3.5k for girls.. all sold. £33k profit.. another litter of 8 to be sold in 2 weeks.. 3rd bitch due in August.. £90k tax free profit in one year
  9. I went to see, ‘Canine Sport’, in shepshed, near Leicester. He’s fantastic. The vet is called Richard Tor. He’s specialises in greyhounds and running dogs.
  10. I’ve been to see bone men in the past, but a complete waste of time really.. all this ‘popping things back’ bollox.. Massage and rest will help torn muscles etc, but all this cracking of necks it’s just to make you think they have done something. If you could ‘pop’ something back on a dog, then you could do the same to an athlete. .. which you can’t.
  11. I don’t think there over rated, as people don’t over rate them. If I was saying they catch fox, hare and deer too then maybe, but most people who them, have them as a mouching dog that can catch rabbits and bush quiet well.. plus as they are small they are so easy to keep.
  12. Fred90 where are you from? Loads in Lincolnshire. If you had the ground, you could probably find a munty everyday.
  13. They do seem to have a good nose. Mine has only ever caught rabbits but she hunts scent of foxes and munjack like she’s mad for them, even though she has never had hold of one. My old dogs (coursing dogs) didn’t really hunt until they had caught a few and realised they were fair game.
  14. Yea she is a first cross. Whippet mum, beddy sire. She will be two in August. I take her ferreting, bush bearing and mouching with my mates bigger dogs.
  15. My beddy/whippet lacks a bit of speed, buts that’s down to her small size. As long as you know their limitations there shouldn’t be a problem. Mine hunts well and is very well behaved around the house etc. But I would class her more a a fast bushing type dog, than a lurcher. Saying that I live in Lincolnshire so it’s more suited to larger, faster dogs due to the size of the fields and game about. Saying that, I’m glad I’ve got her.
  16. Love the stamp of the bitch. Good luck with the pups.
  17. Are they a first cross beagle x cocker, so 50% of each? Or are they bred cross breed to cross breed.
  18. Brand new, never opened. Open to offers if anyone is interested ?
  19. Good luck with what you choose and keep us posted of the pups progress.. it’s definitely a dog I want in the future. The game is definitely out there, you’ve just got to find it.
  20. Genuine question. Why not stick to a pure beagle? What are you looking to achieve by adding a spaniel?
  21. Does the doors slide down? I’ve only seen the ones that are sprung return type on the top of the box.
  22. I’ve not seen a round one before.. looks good. Where are the trap doors, on the side?
  23. Thanks for the reply. The farmer wasn’t too keen on fox snares as there a public footpath right through the field and it passes within a few meters of the pen where the chickens go at night. The problem now, since the lockdown is that there are more dog walkers than ever before. I’ve had a quick look for the den, but the one I found doesn’t look very used, especially if it has cubs. Also, my mate with the terriers isn’t very local and dosnt really want to travel far from home at the moment, which is understandable. I’ve set the trap behind a big old tree away from prying eyes, so I’ll just hav
