  1. Obviously she will have her limitations to obedience, as she can’t hear you.. hand signals can be taught but obviously that’s only of any use when she’s looking at you. And she’s 4, so it won’t be as easy as training a pup.
  2. I’ve never had a problem with dogs or bitches, and I’ve had some neutered. As long as you have good well behaved dogs, there shouldn’t be a problem.
  3. Good luck with your search.. I’ve got 2 beddy crosses and I think there great lurchers..
  4. This years kits. In Lincolnshire.
  5. I didn’t take the picture… but it’s my dog playing with her toy.
  6. Where about do you get feral goats? Obviously not the exact location, but is it Lake District, Scotland etc.. I’ve never seen any.
  7. I watched in on field sports Britain…. I thought it was in England too.. a few shots near me have folded due to the price of poults…. Which is better for me, as I have more permission because of it.
  8. I’m not ? sure but basically you need a license now to rear and release birds… plus the price is going up for chicks… so a lot of shoots are packing up…. My worry is that it leaves a lot of people with guns and no pheasants to shoot… hopefully they don’t start having more hare shoots… they literally wipe them out, one near me, shot 600 over 2 days (a few years ago now mind)
  9. I’ve never seen so many hares as I have this past couple of years…. I just hope the struggle the game bird shots are having, doesn’t lead to more organised hare shoots.
  10. I think if you’re adding bull, it’s to make the dog more useful for foxes etc.. and with that in mind, the bigger the better, so I would always prefer the greyhound.. Ive only seen one small bull cross work and it took too much damage for my liking.. probably was about 19/20 inch.
  11. Try master hunter.. I got some nets of him.. brilliant quality… mine were about 15 meters I think… they have a leased bottom line and they pack away into a bag.. have a look on his website.
  12. I was just thinking the same… it’s a sad day if I can’t let my dogs run around on the beach. My swim in the sea and charge around on the sand most days.
  13. Do you lads who hunt up there regular, find many foxes.. I go ferreting in the dales at least 3 or 4 times a season, and we are walking miles and bushing at the same time…. And I’ve never come across a fox up there..: but it looks ideal fox territory, especially with all the rabbits and ground birds .
  14. I know a guy who does this. He’s got a beddy/grey x bull/grey. He’s has great results too. I think he said the furthest his dog had gone and killed was a mile away. He’s uses a garmin collar.
  15. Yea, some do, some don’t.. my beddy/whippet yaps when she’s close behind… not in the lamp, just daytime, and normally when around cover.
  16. I don’t know if it’s high in calories or not… but I notice they can put weight on when I feed tripe . Although I never feed tripe on its own.. it’s normally mixed with a good dry food.. maybe the tripe makes them eat more than they normally would. But when I used to lamp my coursing dogs, on top of coursing, they could loose too much weight imo. I like a strong coursing dog, so I didn’t want them too lean. My old coursing dog would take some hammer.. I’d lamp foxes on the Friday night, then run him in a comp on the Saturday ?. But I’d feed them twice a day and try keep the weight on them.
  17. Yep… if used vitalin in the past… looks like a bowl of muesli… if feed the best I can now… but did my old dogs catch just as much? Probably ?
  18. I find tripe puts weight on my dogs. Maybe because they eat more of it than some other foods, or because it’s high in calories.. not sure, but mine do well on it, especially when I work them hard.
  19. I think the decent lads are still at it… it’s the retards who give the job a bad name, who come and go like the wind… if there the ones who you get your dogs from, then the future might look bleak.. I know some good lads and there dogs are bang on. About as good as you could hope for really.
  20. I think some of the dogs about now, are as good as there’s ever been.
  21. I’ve never used the jab… in the past I’ve used a snipped home, but I’ve found they have to be used 2 or 3 times a season, as the hills will come back in after a couple of months. The last few years I’ve left the jills in season and I’ve had no ill effects… my hutches are spotless though so they’re not living in filth, maybe that helps.
