  2. Leave them together mate, it might look as if they are seriously trying to kill each other but they are just trying to establish their dominance.
  3. If they lay up your in a bit of bother, but usually not having a locator just means you dont get the rabbits which are killed underground. I have never used a locator, and always end up with a lot of squeeling from underground, but mine have never layed up once. Its just a case of not being able to get the rabbit bac k with me.
  4. I have a pair of those DPM trousers in the 4th pic from bottom. Very warm and dry out really quickly.
  5. mine was trying to do that once, luckily i was watching at the time , but for some reason he was detirmined not to let me pull him out, and wriggled free. as soon as his nose hit the water though he was out faster than a rocket lol
  6. Found that hard to follow, try to use punctuation.
  7. Stubby holds a comemerative funeral for everything he catches. Invite the parent rabbits, construct a small coffin and decorate the whole affair with freshly picked daisies. Its not even that much of a problem for the vicar, as its only a once or twice a month sort of deal...
  8. What, like the one next to him.............idiot. Yeah mate, I was kinda joking. Considering he'd made a point of it in the first post, and its next to another one of hhis own ferrets which is good sized its quite obvious that I wouldnt say that it was actually starved down in any serious way what so ever.
  9. is it that they are saying no or that there isnt any holes or what?
  10. this post has had a few replies from members that find they cant quite master the pulling technique, but they have taken the approach that hunted quarry deserves a humane dispatch, therefore using a priest, which is a recognised means of dispatch, all you can do my long haired friend is try to belittle them with your above post, maybe I should have pm'd you the bollocks, rather than posting it, as all your trying to do now, is make it look like you were joking, I think not, prehaps we should carry on this debate via pm's rather than here Aw i was enjoying the "debate" lol
  11. That is one hell of a fancy catch you got there mate
  12. why do you need short claws on a ferrets feet ? the claws are tools , just like thier teeth if you have a really fidgety kit, they can scratch your wrists to bits when your handling them
  13. All in all a concrete slab does the trick fine. If you want them smaller, clip them, as wearing them down takes ages.
  14. And water obviously, but yeah should be fine otherwise, good luck
  15. In that case it is likely to be ammonia burns. This isnt from the cement, but the ferret's urine collecting on the floor and them being in constant contact with it. Make sure there is a gental slope to stop it collecting and you should be fine.
  16. And dont forget to use the "search" thing either, its really useful ;~)
  17. if it gets really hot in the summer it might warm up quite a bit, but this time of year its ideal. Means you can wash it with a hose pipe, and it will keep the ferret's claws down. maybe if you notice it starting to get hot in the summer put some ply or something down, but if its in the shade then its unlikely to warm up to the point where it will burn their feet.
  18. heat it up in an old pan, over the stove, or with a blowtorch should have done that, but i stuck it in a baked beans can then put it in the coal fire. It really let off some reek though, and Its probably given me lead poisoning...
  19. looking good, thats a nice sandy you got there, always wanted one of them
  20. yeah but the thing is, they dont want to go, so whats the point advising them if they dont intend to try it?
  21. Well done tomo, not a bad bag and looks like you had some decent weather that makes a change...
  22. Looks like its gonna weigh a ton to me...
