  1. You could say that, but I think you'll find im entitled to an opinion in this country. I see no need for childish insults mate, grow up.
  2. ooo snap mate. Just the same as what i do Doesnt have to be hazel though. As long as its not rotton through, or about a millimeter thick, any stick should do it lol
  3. It sure is sad, but not worth losing any sleep over. Animals die, you just have to be man enough to not let it effect you. Some things are out of our control and we just have to get on with it as there is nothing we can do about it. Shame that is mate.
  4. I guess its like christmas, gives you something to look forward to for when the weather turns shitty.
  5. Two women maybe, 2x3foot isnt that big
  6. Or maybe you could be even more original and change its name to Houdini like half the members on the site who have had an escapee
  7. 25 yard, 4z net. Includes head and foot lines. No poles sorry. £25 and will post at buyers expense. Will also swap it for several purse nets, quantity depending on their quality, material etc. Pm me if interested.
  8. hmm... gets me thinking about a shovel i have in the shed. Its only ever been used for shovelling coal, so not sure how it digs the earth, but it has a joint in the middle which screws together. It must be stronger than a folding one because of this and can be carried in two peices. If I were you I'd try and track down a decent one like that mate if your after carriability.
  9. Its a risky buisiness ratting with ferrets mate. A rat could easily kill or injure a ferret, and the smaller you go, the more likely the rat is to just fight than bolt. And the smaller it is, the less abuse it can take. If i were you I'd invest in a smoker as they apparently work well for rats.
  10. TWO but not opposite sexes unless you want to breed, obviously. Unless the male has been neutered, neutering just the female will mean that it gets ragged senseless repeatedly-but wont get preggers.
  11. Not sure quite why obvious pet ferrets are being advertised on "the HUNTING life" but still, angoraferret, why are you supporting the growth of animals which are genetically incapable of surviving on their own?
  12. not looking good is it mate? have a bump on me
  13. HAH, I dont think it was meant to be a serious suggestion mate
  14. Nice one, I wish I had as much luck as you on the small sets. I did a two 1 holers, a three holer, a 5 holer and a 6 holer today. All showing very promising signs of rabbits (lots of tracks, droppings etc) but not one of them had anything in it. That said, they are all in very close proximity to two 12(ish) holers which I wasnt willing to sit around in the cold waiting outside. I only have one ferret in working condition at the moment and tbh hes not much up to it without his brother helping... Anyway- good write up and nice pics
  15. And its hardly likely a land owner is going to take a couple of kids to court for being in his feild. Its not like they were knocking walls down and vandalising the area. If they had any sense they would have stayed with the ferret and just faced the music - but instead they're down a ferret, nets and their days catch. Fair play to you - you couldnt have just left the ferret wandering around could you? If the kids manage to abandon it that thats just tough luck.
  16. I like the little drip tray you have for the water bottle, good idea that mate Do you have the same trouble as me that as soon as you open the door they scramble over the bottom bit below the door before you have chance to close it again? It seems if I make the bottom bit tall enough to stop them climbing out, i dont have long enough legs to step over it lol.
  17. You want to get some of those little shorts you see on them pet websites mate HAHAH might not stop him trying but it will stop him succeeding
  18. A 90 holer without longnets!? How many purse nets you got mate coz I'd be buggered in that situation
  19. I have a 25 yard, 4z, green nylon longnet for sale. Head and foot lines threaded through, but no poles. Top and bottom meshes are reinforced. Head and foot lines are 2mm thick, white nylon cord. Very good quality net, never used, looking for around £25. Willing to post.
  20. Try smoking them out mate, after the last few topics on smoking out rabbits the general concesus was that it worked well for rats (but not rabbits) and the smell may deter them from returning. Sounds like good fun and you dont have to risk another ferret injury to get rid of them.
  21. Good for you, I have one still at that stage, tensing up for a moment but after that its kusht. Should be right as rain after a few more weeks
  22. Sounds like a decent day out, but its a bit hard to read mate if you know what I mean
