how do you sex a goldfinch mule?

i've just bought a goldfinch mule, i was told he was a cock but how do you sex them?

I had a new hob in the summer, i've also got two jills and a vasectomised hob, i kept the new hob separate through the summer but i put them all together last week and the hobs get on fine together. Its just in the summer they need to be kept apart couse they fight over the jills.

Hi, ive got a vesectomized hob and he in with my two jills at the moment, ive noticed over the last few weeks his testicles are realy big, they'er two or three times as big as normal, he seems ok in himself but i wonderd if its normal for there testicles to increase insize throughout the mating season???
