  1. well done martin...wish i was having a late breakfast though! hahaha
  2. I was also wondering about these....but i have tried CCI in thr past and as above found it sh*t....i had a thread asking who uses what a while ago, and most people either used winchester, RWS or Eley.....if it aint broke, don't fix it!
  3. so 3 isn't that many! hooray! well my collie and lab are just pets the lab is broken to the gun but just doesn;t get it. My Alano x is a semi working dog but has got issues with his eyes so not sure how thats going to pan out to be honest. the Mrs really isn't keen on lurchers at all, but we met a beddy whippet the other day and she loved him!!!! a break through me thinks!
  4. hello boys and girls... just out of interest how many dogs do most of you have? I already have a lab, collie, alano espanol x mastiff but i really would like a beddie x whpppet or something like that for ferreting this winter as i dont really have much experience with running dogs, and judging bya recent thread this would be a good place to start. The Mrs thinks that 3 dogs is enough...which is pretty hard to argue with, but we might be moving to a small holding with 12 acres in the near future, so if it comes off then i will have the room for another one. i'd love to see som
  5. a similar situation happen to me mate, my mastiff had been getting out daily and then returning for hwen i cam back for lunch, then going out again when i left...always making sure ehw was back for when i got in from work! it had been goin on for about 2 weeks untill the neighbour finaly caught me in one eve and wasn't happy with dog sh*t all over his lawn, and the dribbly mastiff sun bathin in his front garden and not letting him out of his car! the bloke was sh*t scared of him for obvious reasons! luckily he didnt call the polic! i took round a bottle of whiskey, and the dog so he could
  6. good advice there thanks mate. i'll tell the mrs he has gone to hunt in the sky...it'll cheer her up...she was in bits bless her!
  7. sweet, tahnks for the replies...i have a friend who will have some kits this season, he is hapy for me to have one. just gotta get the hob booked in to have the snip and roberts's your fathers brother! its always the best workers that you loose eh! thats life i guess.
  8. thanks mate, sounds like a plan to get the Jill and get my hob snipped.
  9. cocked up that last post! i use RWS subsonic mate, very cheap and accurate out to 100 yards, and you never need to clean you barrel. if you want to handle a CZ in .22LR and your not a muppet then i could arrange for you to see mine and potentially shoot it if your local'ish. i live near truro.
  10. Hi there. We are living in east cornwall between bodmin and tideford.. Thanks for the advice guys its looking like CZ is the popular option ! Subsonic bullets or supersonic ? Is there much difference except obviously the noise ?!! Cheers gtm
  11. same here.... i sh*t myself! i lost a PC a year or so to something like this! all my pics and mussic.
  12. rabbits when its not hot. Biscuit when it is....i don't need any more flys around my 3 dogs sh*t that i have to clear up daily! they also eat left over meat from roast dinners etc...if its meat they will eat it.
  13. Hi guys, I had to have a ferret put down yesterday and he had severe insulinoma...I took him to the vet as I thought he had heat stroke / dehydration of some sort, turns out his temperature was so low his littl4e body was shutting down so they had to put him out of his misery. I am totally gutted about it.....let alone when the vet bill comes through! I did have 2 hobs...currently separated due to fight at breeding time. They have been separated for just over 2 weeks now and were getting along with out each other fine. But I would have put them back in with each other, and for obviou
  14. pics are working fine for me! nice little holder that mate! although my mate "borrowed" a triangle road sogn took the metal out, used it as a template for a piece of ply wood and slotted it in!
  15. this topic has been done to death mate! but if you want to shoot at that range then .17HMR is your best bet. CZ 452 with a trigger kit you can't go wrong. i don;t like the .17HMR personally, expensive to run, loud, technically you should clean the barrel regularly. I have a CZ 452 .22LR wiht a £10 trigger kit in it, a £90 scope and i love it. cheap as chips to run and very cheap second hand, perfect work horse for bunny bashing / small quarry. a hard gun to beat for value for money. where in cornwall are you?
  16. manage with out it? how the feck do you cut the chest open then? not with my £70 buck knife thats for sure!
  17. alright lads, i need a small chest saw i can carry with me when i'm stalking...what one can you reccomed and where can i buy it? cheers.
  18. i have a mono pod i bought at a game fair with Sika antley as the rfke rest! very nice indeed and not expensive! i also hav the B&Q cane special - i drilled and bolted mine though, dont trust a rubber ring to easy to slip just as you pull the trigger.
  19. we pretty much invented the long bow and yetr we can't hunt with a bow.....ridiculous! very good pic SGS !
  20. foxy and martin, filling freezers somewhere near you! well done lads another good read.
  21. 400 meters...bit keen for me! no doubt it was a good shot though.....but we ae all human and errors are made. 150 yards MAX for me !
  22. DO as above to remove skin from bone leave it inside out and put it in a sealed jar of methlated spirits for a week, one perfectly cured brush. this is the way! then wash it with the mrs shampoo & conditioner and it will be nice and fluffy and not sell of meths!
  23. hello mate, hope you are well. shot a nice buck at the weeekend, and i'm going stalking again tomorrow...if your ever in cornwall mate, you can come and shoot one yourself!
