  1. ok i have managed to dig out the original receipt from sportman gun centre, the price of the rifle will have gone up i'd imagine but here is what i got and what i spent, all of the kit was brand spanking new: cz 452 style .22LR £244.00 SAK Mod £37.00 scope rings £14.00 AGS Illuminated 3-9x40 scope £90.00 ( well cheap but a really good scope, i really like it.) Rifle Slip - FREE! and i think the BI-pod was about £.00 or within a fiver of that anyway. and as i say the trigger kit was £10.00 i think i got it all for a fair price as i also bought full realtree camo whil
  2. i personally ( and a lot of other members) really rate this rifle, its a work horse, here is my set up: cz 452 .22LR "style" ( synthetic stock silver barrel) fitted with trigger kit from rimfire magic ( the kit only cost me £10!) SAK Mod Harris Bi-Pod (expensive but well worth every penny) RWS Subsonic Ammo AGS Illuminated 3-9 x 40 Scope got all my stuff from sportsman gun center in exeter.
  3. well done mate, best get on www.guntrader.co.uk and get yourself kitted up with the mighty CZ 452 .22LR ! all the bunny will know your name in a couple of months!
  4. you have got to rock up there and see them face to face mate, its the best way, anyone can say no on the phone, but if your an approachable guy then you shouldn't have to many probs. i find that people who own livery / stable yards are a good option ( I picked up 2 of them in the past 2 weeks), as they all want the rabbits shot as the little blighters hammer the grazing for the horses. and they are generally fox hunting / country people if you know what i mean.
  5. yer i have tried CCI but they never seemed to want to eject properly from ym gun for some reason, but they were pretty fast.
  6. i shot 2 rabbits with one bullet...although i didn't even know the second one was there until i went to pick it up. i have a friend who swears he has shot 3 with his .22lr before. although he is totally trust worthy i would have to see it to believe it.
  7. Just out of interest i have been running the RWS subsonic in my cz .452 .22LR.....do many of you guys use these? i like them for grouping etc but im sure there is faster rounds out there.
  8. just take along a folder with loads of letters all written up, so all he has to do is sign it, put his address and phone number and that will save him loads of time and hassle, i've only ever had 3 farmers turn me down...1 because he was an arrogant twat, one because he already had a pheasant shoot and they do all vermin control, the other because the land was already taken. getting land is easy peasy mate.....keeping it is the difficult thing! Getting land is easy peasie, never heard owt like it!! You go up to yorkshire and get permission, and you get a farmer to sign sumat!! y
  9. if you agree to control the rabbit / fox etc....you need to commit to doing the job properly or the next person will offer and you could end up losing the permission to someone else. it hasnt happened to me personally as i know all the farmers that i shoot for very well, but it has happened to people i know.
  10. quite a few have commented on the gutting style in the past, when numbers of rabbits are being done, its a very quick and efficent way, and as looks dont worry the ferts, it gets my thumbs up stand on front paws, pull chest fur tight, nick with knife, insert finger into hole and pull downwards, sorted, everything is then ready to drop out, if you have large numbers to gut, two of you can go like the clappers, one doing the cut and pull, the other doing the fling and stomach... hey stubby...not sure i fully follow the gutting procedure you use. can you take some pics and upl

  13. i recently used a .17 HMR for the first time and was head shooting rabbits at 120 yards! awesome fun and does the job...dont think i'd trade in my .22 for it though....they are SO loud! but fair play i know loads of people that use them and love them, let us know how your first outing goes with it mate.
