    id think my furthest shot with an air-rifle is 25 yards.definately no more than that because im not a good enough shot to attempt a further one and anyway its an air-rifle so i like to get as close as possible.creeping up on a rabbit within normal air-gun distances does me,i have no inclination to practice longer shots. but each to their own,as long as the person pulling the trigger seriously knows how his gun handles.

    i like these quick trips out .i rarely take many rats but it gets the dogs out hunting them every few days. id take you out rabbiting but im not sure your fit enough to keep up

    this thing has been running for a while now and i havent been taking pics of my kills plus i dont do much shooting at this time of year due to the dogs.however its just a bit of fun so whilst ive no chance of catching up with the front runners ill take part untill the end best i can. 4 rats 4 points

    I feel old mate. especially now that ive got some blond running around after rats in the middle of the night with me.I havent the energy to go launching myself at rats.These days i like to just stand in one spot and flick a lamp about.Shes got me moving pallets and junk about or prodding rats out of places only rats would hide in I couldnt help but wonder if we shouldnt be using our energy up in some other way at that time of night

    i saw these collars in use last year whilst boar hunting in the rainforests of oahu,hawaii. an american staffordshire took off with a young hound and they just kept going.the other bulldog and two hounds had taken a boar so we took that back up the mountain and waited for 40 minutes or so.the hound came back but the bull terrier was way off across the valley. we took the boar back to waikkiki where i was staying and my host dropped it off at the buyers house before going back and locating his dogs in a fancy millionaires block of big houses. apparentely they lose dogs regularly and they us

    Things are bad keeps and i spend more time ratting and rabbiting than you so you must be right in the shit :D Only joking keeps i respect the dedication you show travelling around for just a few rats.It must take alot of hard work keeping all your dogs active throughout the year,i know how difficult it is finding ratting in our area. your lucky getting the keeper to say thank you,the ones i get out with usually look at a pile of 12-20 rats and just ask"is that all youve got" before walking away in disgust muttering about useless dogs.

    You might be right mate She has started to tell me how we should go about catching the rats,where to enter buildings that sort of thing.It wont be long before she is going by herself and leaving me at home. Ive created a monster.
