IT'S GOING TO BE HARD TO GET A DECENT CONTRACT OFF A RESPECTED CONTRACTOR WITH YOU BEEN A ONE MAN BAND,IT SOUNDS ASTHOUGH YOU JUST WANT PRIVATE WORK ONLY WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING WITH ALL THE GCOSH REGS AND THE SECTION 74'S,MY BROTHER AND I ARE IN THE PROCESS OF SETTING UP OURSELVES WHICH WE ARE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN APPROACHED BY A WELL KNOWN CONTRACTOR UP NORTH BUT LIKE YOU SAID ABOUT THE PRICE OF A 45MM MOLE IT'S NOT FECKING CHEAP + COMPRESSOR +MINI DIGGER +TRANSIT VAN AND PICK-UP AND ALL THE SMALL PLANT ASWELL. Looked at the vermeer machines, emailed em but no reply, there are some working over here at the moment from the UK
-
Cheers ill look in to that. Yeah I know the work can be hard but as long as its regular I can employ some labour to help.
-
Yeah, just drilling, im only a one man band with a 45 mm machine, got to start somewhere I spose but my machine will do all the water service sizes and electric service sizes, well, up to 95mm 3 core. In Guernsey we lay 35mm 3 core as standard for services, eliminating the need to dig it back up when they want to install 3 phase storage heaters but when I did my jointing course at empower by Nottingham I found out that the norm is only single phase cables for services, so it would do that with ease. Im hoping to be busy with services, had alot of calls about doing drains, laying new ones,

Oh for sure, I used to be an electrical cable jointer for Guernsey Electricity, I used to do this as part of my daily work

Nice one mate. Im trying to get the word everywhere, I know this forum isnt a groundsworks forum but the people here will know of places where this could come in handy and if no one locally is available I always am

I am offering a service whereby I can lay water and gas pipes, irrigation, oil lines and electric cables whithout the need to trench by using a trenchless technology technique called horizontal boring. This service is ideal for those who dont want their drive ripped up or their prize lawn ruined, also if access under steps, a wall or earth bank is needed. It works out quicker, less mess and less disturbance to any busy sites. I have done this for 15 years, am fully insured and a member of the UKSTT. The only catch is, I live in Guernsey, I am posting this on the off chance that

In fact this is my missus bitches father, Tommy http://www.enryb-weimaraners.org.uk/ http://www.enryb-weimaraners.org.uk/thomas.htm A decent dog can be a working and show champ
-
What is the going rate for these fine little dogs then, I dont have a clue, there are other breeds I have looked in to that I wouldnt mind having but for one reason or another they just wouldnt be suitable for me, like a Boerboel, my parents have Rhodesian Ridgebacks and have done for over 20 years and these were quite similar looking dogs, I looked in to it and although they arent kc registered any pup you look at will be over a grand!! My girlfriend has a weimaraner bitch that she shows, the father of the dog was not only a working champ but show champ as well, so I dont see how being kc

Ok So hes not reputable then?
-
Im only after a pet!
-
Nah mate, im not in to breeding them, I just like the dog, id just like to experience having one as a pet. If you were worried about them being kc regsitered and me breeding them, that could happen whether I get one or not. Also, how does having a standard effect your working dogs? You can keep them seperate from any show dogs surely, just create a working pedigree, where you have the best working dogs breeding with other good workers, just like show dogs have pedigrees where you can see their family history of champions. At least then even just working dogs, everyone would know wh

So how do the unreputable breeders get hold of em then? Im sure someone that has a litter wouldnt mind seeing a pup going to a decent home even though it wont be encountering any foxes Also im pretty sure it would be the first on Guernsey so at least theyd hold that prestigious honour I have a staff that doesnt bait bulls or pit fight and a weimaraner that doesnt track boar, why not have a Patterdale that doesnt hunt foxes?
-
No fox's here, loads of rats, thats about it. to be perfectly honest I dont work our dogs, my girlfriend shows the weimaraner and staff and I got the Jack as a companion. I just liked the look of the patterdale and after reading about them I registered here where people who would have known about them could give me an idea of where to buy a good reprasntative of the breed from. Ive seen loads of ads for litters but most are cross's, I even saw this http://www.ukclassifieds.co.uk/patterdale_...le-o422545.html
