  1. My opinion on the matter is dont go lamping after foxes with a shotgun... Leave it to rifles. I have seen so many foxes wounded by over zealous cowboys having a go at ranges that would kill a pheasant but just injure and maim. If i see a fox while im out with the shotgun i leave it alone and go back that night with the rifle.
  2. Mine was 9 years old but he died a few months ago.....
  3. i wouldnt get rid of him ...... If he works well id live with it.
  4. I built a small cage that fits in the back of my jeep. I cant remember where i saw the idea (it might have been on here) but i wanted a way where i could take quite a few ferrets out and rotate them, thus giving them a warm place where they could eat and sleep. The ferrets i wanted to work could then be taken out and put in the ferret box and used. It meant that i wasnt carrying 2 or 3 ferret boxes with me and it could give the ferrets id worked somewhere decent to rest in.
  5. Could anyone tell me or point me in the right direction to find out what measurements constitute a medal head on a munty..... I have shot quite a few recently with what id say were good heads but cannot find any guidlines on sizes etc etc. I have looked on the cic website and could not find anything on there same with BASC and the CA... Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Lucky man........ ive been wanting to get out for the past 2 nights and it has done nothing but rain cats and dogs..... good luck
  7. where abouts in bedfordshire mate?..... im from Ampthill
  8. This sort of debate comes up onhere time and time again..... The bottom line is if you value your animals (whatever they be)you take them to the vets if they are ill. I had a european jill with a prolapsed womb earlier this year... I didnt bother looking for advice because it was plain to see she was suffering. After a chat with the vet she was PTS. Aas stated earlier if you keep animals be prepared to pay. There are too many wanna be vets out there!
  9. My lurcher will kill rats, squirrels, rabbits etc etc she has even killed a few weasels but when she sees a ferret, she runs away. When she was big enough she used to come in the court with me. She got nipped a few times but it never turned her nasty to them.
  10. I have a few ferret kits left. They are foc to anyone on here. PM me for details
  11. Is that not the bull attitude coming through? Bull terriers have a reputation for being aggresive......
  12. My Lurcher had a litter of puppies and the one that i decided to keep back for myself was playing in the garden, tripped over and broke his tibia and fibia..... After thinking about it i decided to give the little guy a chance and get him fixed up (rather than PTS).... Has anyone else had a pup that has broke its leg but gone on to be a worker???
  13. Ive put my one up a few times but dont mind re-showing it. It has slightly changed now, with the addition of cages built on to the rear wall and piping attached around the perimeter.
  14. Hahahaha ....... i knew someone would notice
  15. No its not my lab bud ....its just a pic
  16. I have 2 black boys for sale left out of a litter of 9 pups. Dam is beddlington whippet X Bull Greyhound. Sire is deerhound greyhound X Saluki greyhound. Mother is 19"TTS and the dad was 25TTs. £150 Bedfordshire.
  17. Danman ......for people to help you out you must answer their questions! Did you say you have put a whole rabbit in? If so how long has it been in there? You should be feeding minced rabbit not whole rabbit at that age (you buy blocks from the pet shops of frozen rabbit make up a soup with that and kitten milk). Feed them kitten milk not puppy milk... although its not that much different the kitten milk has a lower lactose content and ferrets are lactose intolerant... Have you got another jill that less kits so that you can spread the litter out? Is this the first time you have bred ferrets? I
  18. Just a quick question..... are they first time mothers and did you look in the cage and disturb them too early?
