  1. I agree with skinny mate use its first year to come to terms with the basics. As the old saying goes you cant run before you can walk. If you go in too early you'll damage it just enjoy the puppy stage it dont last for long.....Good luck and lets see some pics

  4. I live in the Bedfordshire area, have other areas been seeing baby rabbits yet?
  5. I'd personally put the jills in your court first and let them get used it and then when the jills come into season (which will be in the next couple of months) put in one of the hobs so they can mate with them. I wouldn't put in both hobs because they will start fighting over the jills. You will also have to split the hobs up because they will take their sexual frustration out on each other. I noticed at the weekend that my hob was taking alot of interest in my jills while I was working with them that coupled with baby rabbits being around has all but ended my ferreting season One other thin
  6. Did this guy tell you why he was getting rid of them? Most people only get rid of problem ferrets this late in the season, was it because it kept biting him? or was there another reason. It can take a bit of time but if you get him/them uesd to you handling them you may be mildly surprised at how loyal and affectionate they can become. Start by feeding them a saucer of kitten milk and stroke them while they are feeding after a while try dipping your knuckle in the milk and letting them lick it off. A tap on the nose also works they soon work ouy that if they bite you it "hurts" them. The troub
  7. great pics mate what camera do you use?
  8. I hadnt seen any signs of young or breeding until yesterday the first place we ferreted was clear of signs we were ferreting to the guns and all that bolted were adults but the second place we went to we started bolting babies that were a few weeks old so unfortunately it looks like this seasons ferreting is over for me Another thing was that my hob was taking alot more interest in the jills which is very early too.
  9. Nothing worse than losing a dog and not knowing whether it has been stolen or injured ............ Glad you got it back mate
  10. 3 dogs 5 kids ...had the snip sod having any more
  11. But why do they need a natural diet when they are not living wild? i appreciate what you are saying but i personally think that the pellets have major benefits 1. There is no rotting meat 2. Their poo is alot firmer 3. They are getting a food which hasnt a chance of having lead in it. I do however let them have the skins from the rabbits they get. I also believe that they dont lay up as much because they dont view the rabbit as a larder on legs
  12. Nice looking dog mate I bet its got alot of stamina?
  13. Welcome mate Im also fairly new butcan say there are some really helpful people on here!!
  14. They are a meat based pellet. Do you feed your dog just meat? Or do you eat just meat both are carnivores. The dry food gives them the right amount of proteins and vitamins it also dosent rot. I have had ferrets for the past 18 years and have fed both raw meat and dry food and would choose dry everytime!!
  15. how small is this micro ferret mate?
  16. mine refuse meat because i feed them dry but they bolt rabbits just fine
