    At the moment there are 31. 25 jills and 6 hobs. The hobs are in hutches at the moment and i want to extend it to give them some exercise space.

    I have a moderated 410 and it is quieter but i wouldnt say as quiet as an air rifle. What you do notice is it is alot louder in and around enclosed areas.

    Never heard of summer ferreting! ....Pest control is 365 days a year and great sport for the dog.. Mike thats a cracking picture

    Mine was made up from off cuts that I picked up off a building site i was on. Started like this Finished like this I am now in the process of extending it

    frontline do not have a dosage for ferrets but my vet spoke to them and they said it is fine working on a small cat dosage.

    I went out last night for a mooch about with a couple of mates last night. It wasn't the perfect night for lamping but we haven't been out for what seem like an eternity. We entered the first field and shot 10 rabbits out of it but on panning back around the field one of the rabbits that we had shot was getting humped by a daddy rabbit :sick: :sick: It just tickled me pink, all night i was having a chuckle to myself. Ended the night with 71 rabbits and 1 fox. Has anyone else seen something like that???

    I would have to dispute that mate because if they were game you would not be able to go lamping, because you are not allowed to shoot game at night.

    Believe it or not the lack in availability of wood shavings is down to the recession and the lack of wood being produced by the building trade. I have had to get my last two bales from pets at home at nearly £12 a bag. I don't like using paper because if the ferret is wet it turns to paper mache and sticks to them.

    If you are working flat out and havent enough time for the lurcher, how are you going to have enough time for a terrier????

    I have alot of land but dont have any really large buries with the exception of one. But i have averaged 31 rabbits per session over the season. The average would have been higher if i hadnt done a few short couple of hour sessions.

    I have never washed a ferret. As said previously it does make them smell stronger. You have done the rigt thing by changing the bedding just leave it at that.

    i dont see the landowners name on any rabbit on there land . could always run the other side of the hedge its wild nobody owns them, years ago they beleived any wild animal on there land was theres i had a pheasant come in my garden the other day , i didnt shoot it because it had a collar saying LORD BATHS 2 A CERTAIN EXTENT PHEASANT ARENT WILD , THEY WERE REERED IN CAPTIVITY, THERE OWNED 2 A CERTAIN EXTENT BUT NO WILD ANIMAL HAS A NAME ON IT You didnt shoot it because it is out of season

    Try a saucer of kitten milk together. My dogs are always introduced to the ferrets when they are puppies. They get a few nips but they never come to any real harm. My lurcher stays away from a ferret but last year when i trapped a mink she wanted to rip it to pieces.

    Go and see some other peoples. They are a bit like puppies but just like puppies they do calm down. Youd end up a nervous wreck if you ever came around to my place. I end up with them in my pockets, hood and have even be known to drop my trousers when they have gone up my trouser leg
