Alright troops. Its Mark here. I hunt rabbits with my ferrets. I have seven of them. When the season is down, i do a bit of shooting and trapping. With the traps, its all rabbits but when shooting, it's whatever nature has to offer.

I know a good bit about ferrets and ferreting so if you get stuck on the way. Geez a we shout
Cheers again.
1. Cheers again Kay. I did get them the jill jab this season as when i have the kits, i hate getting rid of them. mutch appreciated ( i think thats how you spell that ha ha)
2. Last year, i bread my little polecat and she had a litter of 9. I sold them on and kept four of the females. I eventualy moved them in permanent with there mother and everything is fine. Over the last little while ive noticed two in perticular dragging one of there sisters about but i thought they where just playing but then i started to notice the little thing cant even get a drink in piece without getting dragged away. They dont seem to be hurting it but i didnt like that behaviour so i gave them a little slap. They just go back and do it again so i watched them for a while. This is the gods
3. Don't know about the big fish dvd but i baught a dvd from ebay called Making and Maintaining Nets and it shows you every thing you need to know and more. If your trying to make the nets yourself then this is the dvd for you. Im not the brightest and i learned from it ha ha. It only cost 2 or 3 pounds to. I make the bag nets now cause i think they work well better not even giving the rabbit a chance to wriggle out the net. Both the purse net and bag net are made the same way. The bag nets have pegs on both ends of the net leaving the rabbit with no chance of escape. I could go on and on about i
4. Its called the war dance. Some of my ferrets can't control them selves when they do this and they run into things. They are funny to watch and great we creatures. MARKY
5. Am off oot the morra [bANNED TEXT] and it looks as if its gonna be the same for me (weather wise) but that won't stop me.
6. I would have a good think before you do breed. There are other options like the jill jab. This jag brings the female out of season with no hassle of her having babies and it costs about £7.00. I done this to four of my ferrets this season just over a week ago now and the swelling has started to away already. You have to think of who is going to buy them because you only usualy get a £5.00 for them unless they are silver in colour (silver mitt) so if your think of making a little bit of money think again. To me, ferrets are worth alot more than a fiver. You cant put a price on a ferret. They
7. Remove the male after 2 or 3 days just to make sure the procedure works. After mating, the female usually carries the babies and gives birth round about 46 days later. When she gives birth, just let her do all the work. As long as you feed her, she will feed the babies. Don't try and pick them up cause that could cause problems but thats a diffirent question. After about 4 weeks, there eyes will start to open and they will start to explore more and more each day. I would start handling them from here on to get them used to being picked up and handled. There little teeth are like razors so watc
8. They are crazy we creatures but i wouldn't be without them now. They are not just pets but my working companiens. I think thats how you spell that. Im better at catching rabbits than spelling. Cheers [bANNED TEXT].
9. I have two male ferrets and all they want to do is rip each other to bits. I recon they would fight to the death so obviously i dont use them together. One of them isn't that great with the females either but i find if you use him with three or four other females, he's spoilt for choise. Alone, he works away great and he knows exactly what he's out to do. I don't think anyone can help me out here but just thought i would mention to see if i would get feed back. Cheers.
10. The males do come into season slightly before the females. The big guy wont care and he'll just want his end away. Four of my females have already come into season but just last week there, i took them for the Jill jab as i dont want to breed this time. Seperate them and when she comes into season, put her back with the male. I usually leave them for about three days together just to make sure the procedure has worked then seperate them again. About 46 days later, you will have a we litter. Remember to remove the male after three days cause if you dont, when the babies arrive, you wont have th
11. I find they become a little more aggresive when they come into season. My ferrets are handled everyday so i dont get the problem with the biting. I know a we irish guy who used to pull there teeth out and obviously that stopped the biting. He done this so the ferrets wouldnt lye up with the rabbit if they killed it underground. I just thought i would mention that and i don't recommend it. Just a we bit of useless info ma man.
