  1. I have photographed woodcock on the nest.
  2. Is that the WCS Tube? Never used them, can you narrow entrance to stop non targets? Looks good but probably could not use safely if cats or children about, whereas the kania with factory made cubby can be screwed to wall/tree/fence Cat's wouldn't fit in the WCS mate. The tube is alot smaller than it looks. I've been using them for a while and I've had trail cams set on them too, and I've not seen a non-target ever try to get in. I think the only NT that could get in there would be a hedgehog, but if the trap is set in the daylight or off the floor then that isn't going to happen IMO.
  3. I bet I might just know the place....
  4. I bet them lappys are the second clutch, the first being destroyed by either predator or farming.....
  5. Is that from a beck or a narrow river??? I beauty it is mate!
  6. I find a dose of peanut butter really draws them in. They simply cannot resist!
  7. Just a Mountain Hare HPR going through the moult, they look quite daft at this time of year lol..far better in their "snow" jacketsCracking pic Fuji... I've not seen many pics up off your walks out in the lakes lately mind fella, always enjoy reading your write ups and pics of what you've seen when up in the mountains and fella Oh you know me mate I'm never in the house lol, been doing plenty of hiking of late, done a 14 mile hike over the hills yesterday up Scotland..i like going on "recce" hikes throughout the spring & summer to get the lay of the land and see what's on the ground for
  8. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say jackdaw......they're lovely birds.
  9. That's what they had!! so what are they then? MP's. But that's just MHO, based on location, nest and eggs.
  10. One dead give away, when the bird lifts look at it's tail. There will be a white line (of feathers) on each side of the tail.
  11. Cheers bud, quite a difference in the eggs or is that to do with what they've been eating or something else? Yes, eggs do vary. They vary quite a bit actually. But I could also be wrong and they might not both me MP. But if i had to bet I'd say they was.
  12. Meadow pipits the both of them IMO....
  13. I'm not at all. I was told that was the breeding by Kurtis, but I trust him as far as I can piss. Lol. Klyde had a coat like a 1st x bed/whip, but was bigger hence the grew. I'm open to suggestions/ideas. What you reckon Jon? In all honesty...and speaking from experience; you might get another dog of the exact same breeding and it might be useless. You might not be happy with the next twenty of that breeding. IF you find the breeding. Some dogs just come along in a mans lifetime and they're good. You don't need anyone to tell you, you just know it; they're good. The problems all star
  14. I might be wrong, but I think that the Kania is illegal without a cubby/tunnel. This is to stop non-targets being killed, birds etc...
  15. How certain are you that the dog is a beddy/grew....
  16. Could be......wish we'd have seen a photo before they'd hatched then there'd be no mistake...
  17. You would have to assume it is a redstart.....but both sexes feed, and neither look too much like a sparrow..... Loction is correct and they could be redstarts by the looks of them. What country is this in? The UK?
  18. Can you tell the sex at that age JD? Cheers, D. No mate, I can't. I just referred to the chick as a 'he'....
  19. Aye, rats are a totally different animal....I know we all call squirrels 'tree rats' but they are dunces when compared to the brown rat.....I've spent a hell of a long time watching them on trail cams this springtime and i am amazed how clever/cunning the rat is....
  20. Hi...ask her why she is mentioning foxes. It is the invasive mink you wish to hunt as they are decimating the local, indigenous bird population and are vying with otters for territory and food as well as making the comeback of the water vole impossible.
  21. Maybe the CA should consider taking on the anti-hunt MP's as 'consultants'....just like what the anti's did to get the bill through in the first place....
